Fellow Moderators, Why the soft deletes of spam?

Me, too. Doesn't seem we'd have a problem building a case for Wilbur.
 
Only the mods can see the soft deletes... the members only see the regular posts... I was soft deleting to leave the massive evidence for Wilbur.
 
I just deleted 263 spam threads. Perhaps a system where threads and posts require reproducing distorted characters is required, at least until some sort of general blockage can be put in place.

Same here, I usually use soft delete so I can leave an explanation. Admittedly the last few days leaving the deleted titles is getting to be cumbersome.
 
Wilbur won't need to look at massive evidence...he just needs to look.
 
You moderators better get on the ball.....the centerfire site has "Dozens" of spam postings.....!!!!....Roger
 
All effective actions require privileges we moderators don't have. We just keep shootin' till the Captain gets here to call in artillery.

WE have deleted hundreds over there... I spent an hour deleting them as fast as they were posted. Then I gave up...

None of these suggestions are within the power of us so called Super moderators in actuality we are limited capability moderators who were only given the capabilities we have because Wilbur trusts us to a certain degree to handle small offenses . Obviously complete control of the forum is for a much smaller group.

Yes..What about..... Limit new members (or heck ALL of us) to a decription login for all Original posts and replys (key word encrypted to eliminate program spam spiders) ... AND OR to association with organized shooting groups... NRA....NBRSA, IBS....And ETC..... BET that the spamers are NOT members of anything except hawking their crap...
This can only get worse............!

What if we were all switched to having to log in for each post temporarily, two weeks? If they had to log in each time I'll bet they will quit.
Sure it will be a pain for members but the spam is a bigger pain.
 
They are exploiting a vulnerability in the vbulletin software. Contact vbulletin support and apply a patch or fix.
 
I don't think it's a software problem. It's happened before, but now it's like we're locked out of the house, waiting on the guy with the key. Oh, and it's raining on the Centerfire Forum.
