Fellow Moderators, Why the soft deletes of spam?

This is what I was talking about... Pain I.T.B. for the members but it's the way it's gonna have to be...
Step 1
Use the Questions & Answers feature. It's best to use a question that is unique to your forum, avoid using common knowledge like "what is 1 + 1". If you can't think of a unique question, then ask a certain word be typed, here is an example:
Q: Please type the word a u t o m o b i l e without spaces in the box below.
A: automobile
Admin CP -> Settings -> Human Verification Options -> Question & Answer Verification

When you guys see this stuff, do you also delete the user accounts? If not, you should start.
Might also want to implement some sort of anti-bot graphic security thing on new accounts so there are no automated ones being created.
If they are posting spam 1 time a min, (or more), you can bet it's automated. Start tracking the IP's of the users, and when you see a pattern form on the first two octets, ban that range. I know I said this before and there was apprehension about doing it cause you 'might' loose a user. Well, I'ts gett'n time you might want to have a few less.

You need to read post #13 in this thread, all the things you suggest are beyond our control. It takes someone with real admin capabilities.

With Wilbur away getting a sun tan and the so called super mods in reality having limited control why not just pull the plug until the main man returns

What don't you understand about the limitations of the 'super' moderators? Wilbur, the administrator is the only one who can pull the plug or fix the spammers. All mods can do is delete posts one at a time...
