Anybody else had trouble posting these last few weeks? I often have to keep two windows open because the posts send/upload so slow. I'm seeing a lot of double posts, my guess is that others are having difficulty too?

Any idea'rs?

Does Wilbur know?

Or is it just me??

Al,

Normally, if I screw up and make a double post, it tells me.

But, it does seem like lately that after I have made a post, it will appear as a double, seemingly without the system being aware of it.

In this case, I just remove one of the post.

I do not know enough about computers to understand what is going on........jackie

Yes--it's been super slow when sending a post--one took about 2-3 minutes for me last week. While it's cooking on the back burner you don't dare do anything.

I have seen lately

when I send a post the time seems excessive. When I hit the send again the duplicate message comes up and then the post appears. Seems like there is a "Snag" on the Uptake.

I see all of the above. Can you imagine how much stuff is on here and how many hits there are?

Remember that the internet is just like a national road network. Your hangups could be as easily a problem of getting on to the main highway to Wilburville as crossing the country. Even when you arrive there, look out for the traffic jam at the building car park.

When I hit the button to post the message it seems to lock up. After waiting a couple minutes I hit the post button again and then I get a message that I just sent a duplicate post. I don't have this problem with ANY other web site so I assume the problem is in the server for BenchrestCentral. It's such a hassle that I avoid posting messages.

I have not seen the delay problem here when posting. 6mmBR.com is another story though.
I don't know if it's related but I usually preview my posts before posting them.

Lately, I have to log on twice before the post goes through.

Except, for this post.....maybe has to do with length of post?

I'm working on it

When anything goes wrong here I get something like 200 "errormails" a minute (database errors). Along with the 50 spam emails a minute it fills my mailbox rather quickly. The server folks are badgering me to fix some kind of URL injection attack ...like I know what THAT is. The "smart" guys I pay to keep the server secure won't admit there is a problem. If they did they wouldn't be "smart guys".

Last day or so I upgraded the forum software to the latest without any "problem" reports. I'll optimize the database and see if that helps.

Keep me posted so I'll know if what I do helps at all. Frankly, this kind of stuff is historically a precursor to a (edit) server failure.

An (edit) server failure! SAY it isn't SO Wilbur!!!

THAT would (edit..ing) suck! (Again...)

BTW, the problem has been severely curtailed this last day, nipped, shall we say, "in the bud" p'raps???

We can hope
