Yep it's that time of year, :D time for the annual Buffalo Shoot LV/HV sponsored by Midland Shooters Association. The range is in great shape, there is a hint of fall in the air, perfect conditions for MSA's premier event of the year. Hope you can make it.

The Beggs tunnel will be available free of charge to all shooters three days before and after the match. If you have wondered how a tuner really works, this is your chance; I'll be conducting demonstrations. Maybe you would just like to see what it's like to shoot in a tunnel. Come on out. We'll have some fun!

For planning purposes, it will help tremendously if you will e-mail and let us know you are coming. We look forward to seeing you in September. BE THERE !!

Ronnie ...

Yeah, you're right. A jacket is duel purposed ... it can warm you when it's cold and also protect you from the searing sun. I think I'd take one of those silver ones like they use when putting out oil well fires. Art

What ??? In Odessa ??? in September ??? Does that mean the temperature has fallen from 107 degrees to 98 degrees ??? Art

Hi Art

Hope you can make it to Midland. Yes, mid September in Midland can bring some mornings when a light jacket feels good for an hour or two. We have had a good bit of rain lately and everything is green which keeps the dust down.

The Buffalo Shoot was the first match I participated in twenty years ago and I still look forward to it like no other. If I had known at that time just how long the benchrest road really is, I'm sure I would have been discouraged, but thankfully, I did not know.

Second only to flying and a close second at that, this rifle accuracy/benchrest thing is the most fascinating study I have ever undertaken. I never cease to be amazed at the talent and brainpower we have in this game. If there is a need, someone will come up with the answer. Long live benchrest !

I hope to be there Thursday night, since I am not going to the Nationals, I figure this, (and Rachels Glenn at the end of October), will be the end of my year.

I plan on having new barrels for each Rifle and plenty of new brass, Huckeba, Jay Lynn, and I are neck and neck for the Gulf Coast Region Shooter of the year. It will all come down to The Buffalo Shoot.

See you there........jackie

Hi Jackie

Glad to hear you will be coming to Midland for the Buffalo Shoot. We'll leave the light on for you. See you there.

It looks like

Curtis and I will be coming. Hopefully I can get the gun shooting the 22 beggs back together before then.

Hey Jerry

Glad to hear you and Curtis are coming to the Buffalo. I'm looking forward to visiting with you about my new stock design, the 'Aluminum Ultralite.'

About the 220 Beggs, I now have both sizing and seater dies for the 6mm Beggs as well as the 22.

See you there.

For the benefit of those who may be 'on the fence' about attending the Buffalo Shoot in Midland,,,

We are hoping for record attendance and will do whatever it takes to insure you a pleasant and memorable shooting experience. Temperatures will not exceed 72 degrees, winds will be light and variable at two to three mph. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy and the girls from Hooters will be there serving complimentary soft drinks, juice and coffee.:):D

Barak Obama will sing the national anthem and conduct the opening ceromonies.

Scoring will be best four out of five shots. Yes, you will be allowed to throw out your worst shot measuring only the best four. :D This should completely change the standings giving guys like you and me a fair chance against the likes of Schmidt, Huckeba and Gore. :p (Sounds kinda' like a law firm; huh?) And of course, those three are excluded from the new rule change.

Trophies will be awarded for all places and special recognition reserved for last place. Awards presentation and closing ceremonies will be conducted by the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.:D

Arnold Jewel has agreed to wear his teeth and a clean shirt and Dr. Tim Oltersdorf will be there with his weedeater blender serving complimentary magaritas.:p:D

If there is anything else your heart desires please contact match director Mike Conry, because I'm headed south immediately and will not return till spring.

Adios amigos !!

(Well, the politicians get away with it everyday; don't they?)

Gene, you didn't say what year model of cheerleader would be conducting the awards ceremony. A cheerleader from 1968 might fit in with the rest of us that are getting a little long in the tooth. That year model looked pretty good back then, but things change and that probably would discourage attendance. So, you might better specify year model.

Joe Archer and I are planning on making it if we can round up wherever our benchrest stuff has been misplaced since the last time we shot. This will be his first match since his heart attack a few years back.
