Friend Wlbur:

I sent your check but after I read your thread here I made a mistake...I said I made the check out for 25 times the regular rate, which I thought, for some dumb reason, was $ 2.00....so the check is only for $50.00...

This check is to cover an add I will place in the classifieds shortly about SPEC 5......

I ain't never placed an add so I may have to get someone else to do it as I may put a picture of two...

Wilbur, I don't ever use your forum without compensating you....

Friend Wilbur:

PS............you know things are going well when the moderator of the forum starts a thread with only the word "BILL", and everyone knows who you're referring to.....

Your buddy, bc

Yes, but....

The forums are not the right place. Aside from making a few bucks now and then, the foremost purpose of the classified section is to channel "commercialism" away from the forums.

The classifeds are widely and regurlarly viewed by more than could be imagined and are quite effective. Really no reason to place an ad and then advertise the ad itself. It will take care of itself I do believe.....

Hate to bust your bubble bill, but I did not immediately think of you when I read that thread title. Will try harder in the future..........

And Bill ..........

Unlike rock stars and movie stars the adage "any publicity is good publicity" does not usually apply to gumsmiths !!

Mr. Calfee sure hope you are having fun with all this also congrats on building the most accurate rimfire in the world. You should contribute that there rifle to the ones going to the Worlds, not saying their rifles won't do the job but just imagine the price you could ask, for the most accurate rifle in the world if they win.

Wrong Bill.........

Hmmmmmmmm,I immediately thought of "Bill Meyers" but i knew he would not stiff Wilbur, so i was confused also i guess?
Colt.45

Most accurate in the world???? No Chance!!!

BC cut the BS

Still not posted Too bad. That would have been great to use at the big money match at Kettlefoot this weekend. Maybe even I could have collected some of the prize money with that rifle
Don

Bill, you ought to send, or bring the rifle down to Kettlefoot and have Cliff auction it off! He's a great auctioneer and it'd sell for a very good price too. Of course you could put a starting bid on it too.
It'd be a good place to test it out. I think several folks with some pretty good rifles plan on being there this weekend. Good luck with it, and congrats on putting a rifle together that you're happy with, and proud of. That's a good feeling.

Yep..I can see it now...
A check made out to "Bill Calfee" and signed by Bill Calfee..

I will bet you that the rifle will be gone within the hour after Bill posts it..

Friend Kent:

I contacted MIke Sherrill and Mark Meadows yesterday...I wanted to see if either were going to the big shoot......They live 50 miles north of me and would have to go by my place on the way.....I was going to run one of them through the NICS FFL system and giive him ownership of the rifle.....I don't believe I could let someone take it out of state with me as owner .......anyway, I was going to ask them to take the rifle and 2 bricks of ammo and ask if anyone would like to run it through the match....they both know how I would want it cleaned etc and could take care of that for whoever shot it......

But they are going to St. Louis for an ARA Tourney.......

Is it the most accurate rifle in the world? That's a silly statement to make of course.......but it's about as good as I've ever seen.....

The gun is basically finished, but, I'm not putting it up for sale till I determine why it shoots like it does.....I have got to know.....so I can do it again...
There's a story behind this rifle and when, and if, I figure out why it does like it does, I'll tell it....

I suspect it has something to do with the stock and bedding, probably more so the stock.......but I ain't sure yet...

Good luck to all at the big shoot.....thanks again Kent..
