Benchtop Timer

Anybody got a recommendation?

I've been looking for a countdown timer to use at the bench. Something small, battery powered, big numbers, adjustable countdown with audible alarm. Internet searches turn up plenty with end only warnings. What I can't find is one with an adjustable audible "early warning" feature? Something I could set to 30 or 40 seconds before end.

Thanks in advance

Got mine in the kitchen section at walmart. Cheap...have had it for about ten years on the same battery and has 1" tall numbers. It's sold as a cooking timer.

Well

The match director tells you when you have 30 seconds left...................................

Standard timer from Radio Shack will fit your needs. Place it on the bench where you can see it with the same eye your watching your wind flags;)

Timer

I use one that I got at Radio Shack. It is graduated in seconds.

As a Competitive Shooter, I want to know at all times exactly how I stand on time.........jackie

....just

..set your timer for 6 minutes and 30 seconds IF you need a 30 second notice, for a 7 minute course of fire.

After losing or breaking several timers, I finally discovered the perfect solution; forget about em'.

The range officer keeps the time and gives several callouts about how much time is remaining. I haven't used a timer in years and have never had a late shot. Those of you who know me are aware that I'm always looking for ways to eliminate unnecessary contraptions and stuff to haul around. My motto; keep it simple.

IF YOU INSIST ON HAVING AN EARLY WARNING...
buy two...set one at 6/20 and the other at 6/59.........

or do what gene said....

Geeze

Talk about over complicating things.

I don't buy into all of that Cr-p about "they give you seven minutes to decide what 25 seconds you are going to shoot your group in". And you don't need a buzzer, bell, or anything else to go of to wake you up. In fact, sincecell phones are banned at the line, it is probably not a good idea to have something like that going off during a match.

Just use a timer, and glance at it ever so often. You won't disturb anybody else, and you won't be in the dark as to just how much time has elapsed.

Good Grief.........jackie

I bought one - - -

at Radio Shack back when I started shooting. I got it out on the bench a few times but can't say I ever used it or needed to. The only thing I can see a need for a timer is while practicing so that one doesn't sit and wait for the good stuff. I still carry it with me but only to loan it to someone who "Needs" it since I never practice. :D

At all of our matches the Line Officer anounces Half Time and then counts down from two minutes, one minute, 30 seconds down to 5 seconds, ergo I have never felt the need for one. I am usually done in 4 minutes or less.
