Butch,
You gonna make some glue on tuners? I have one and two being built. They work great. Glue the threads on, screw on the weight. Don't have to have the barrel threaded. Can even remove it and put it on another barrel.

Hi Butch....I measured several ...lengths vary from 22 to 23 1/2" ...the long one is .820 and the shorter ones vary from.830 to .850"....some are Hart UHV and three are Krieger LV (I forget the ## ...hahah)...hope this helps..Roger
I have barrels that will make LV that are on LV taper barrels, the small end of LV's, the large end of LV's, HV's and Max HV's. As I said they will all make LV on most stocks but a Max HV may only be 20" long and bave a muzzle of 0.945", another on the small end of a LV may be 22.75 long and 0.820" muzzle and so on but still be in the 5# weight range.
I checked about 18 barrels, a few of which were for LV/old style McMillan stock/LCS scope/Panda action. The smallest was 0.820" at the muzzle. I do have some straight turned barrels for the Fudd SS tuner, the barrels weigh about 3# 12 oz, but still were 0.800".
You could use Dan Liljas barrel weight program and see how extreme a barrel would have to be to get below 0.800".
I cut my Krieger LV barrels about as light as any one Leaving about 3/4 inches of "straight" on the chamber end after the tenon is cut, at 21 1/2 inches length, the end of the muzzle will measure about .915. That yields a barrel of about 76 ounces to use with my own tuner which weighs 5.5 ounces.
I thread the end of my barrels with a .900 diameter thread........jackie
I have the .900X32TPI in stock, but have had a few request for the .800 size. It is easy enough for us that have lathes to put a threaded bushing on the smaller barrels to use the larger diameter tuners. It ain't as easy for the ones that don't.
Butch
Jerry,
I am aware of Lilja's program and also have the one that Joe Kubon worked up a few years ago. I know what I need for myself, just checking on the rest of the troops.
Thanks Butch
