    GoFundMe page for Faye Boyer

This is definitely some sad news, and is clearly a significant loss to the Benchrest game. I met Faye at the first group shoot I attended, at the '97 Hog Roast at Fairchance PA. She shot on the bench to my left. She was very pleasant and easy to shoot beside. Conditions were pretty difficult...

    Borescopes

Hawkeye Mirror My Hawkeye is about 17 years old. Sometime during the first few years I had it I replaced the incandescent bulb with an LED to get rid of the dingy yellow cast. After some years of use the mirror started to deteriorate. Last spring I sent the mirror assembly back to Gradient Lens...

    6 mm br improved

Jim and l have discussed the differences between shooting on our sheltered range at home, without time limits, the match pressure, and the long intervals between groups, and shooting an agg on a wide-open range over half a day under match conditions and time limits many times over the years...

    Marine Tex

Better take a look at your units........those numbers are in ft. Lbs, and guard screws are usually torqued to 45 - 60 in. lbs. ........that would have to be one heck of a strong 1/4" bolt, lol.

    Marine Tex

Marine-Tex is good stuff. I use it or Devcon, depending on the application. One word of caution though: Do yourself a favor and find and look at the spec sheet for both the gray and the white products. The strength of the white is way lower than the gray. The white may work okay....I don't know...

    AMP machine

Heck yeah. We'll have to come to terms on the reamer though, as I think it might collect some dust before I use it again. All I ask is that you put the target backstop back together if you shoot it here.......I'll leave the tractor idling for you, lol. -Dave

    243 ten twist

If this helps... About 15 years ago I rebarreled my marksman stocked, severely throated pre-'64 model 70 with a 24" 10 twist Hart HV barrel and chambered it in 6mm-284. Other than the match grade barrel and a trigger job, the gun was unmodified. Just to see how it would behave, I loaded my own...

ATF requirements for home made suppressors

If you are thinking about doing anything at all with suppressors, find and read through the regulations a couple of times BEFORE you make a single move. You will thank yourself for putting forth the effort..... -Dave-

    Bandsaw blades

I don't think Lee is using an industrial bandsaw with a coolant pump, nor do I think he's sawing any production runs or difficult to machine materials. Lee, please forgive my assumptions if I was incorrect, lol. -Dave-

    Bandsaw blades

If you use your saw for cutting anything other than 416R barrels, here's something to consider. The minimum number of teeth engaged in the cut should be 3 to 4. If you go with one blade for about everything, stay to the fine side. Run the surface speed pretty slow....you don't want to waste time...

IBS ssoy and rookie of the year final results

Josh's question brings up a good point and I hope it inspires some discussion. Having more 2-Gun opportunities on the schedule sure could make taking on the expense and extra effort of adding a Hunter/Varmint Hunter gun to ones stable more attractive. I sure don't see a way it could hurt no...

    Considering Centerfire BR

Careful.... Careful Keith, it's a trap! I fell for the same ploy in 1995. Carl Baker and the late Al Feldman were more than happy to meet me at a match and put a ready-to-go rifle I'm my hands. One of them one week, and the other the next. I didn't stand a fightin' chance I tell ya. Of course...

    Bill Brawand

Good to hear he's on the mend. Bill is a one of a kind guy. He gave me good info and advice when I was getting started making bullets in 2000. He was encouraging and gave me confidence, telling me that they'd be excellent. Get well Bill... Dave

Replacement bolt for a Stolle Panda action

In your original post you mentioned "or at least a bolt handle". If the handle came off it's as simple as re-attaching it. Kelbly's or a number of us can handle it for you.

    Which scope reticle?

NF fixed 42X I've been reading, sorting, and experimenting lately in order to nail down the perfect (for me) scope. I'd almost made up my mind on the Valdada, but the large amount of distance between the inside ends of the crosshairs and the floating dot was the deal breaker. I locate from the...
