    etch o matic

pics Here a few quick photos I snapped, I did one of my Harrells dies in 30BR... The wire wrapped soaked Qtip I hold in my hand like a pencil and just rub the stencil area. It seems to work better than me using the stamp pad, I don't get as much run over. I can concentrate the etching to...

    etch o matic

First, off I have to say Boe your pics show some very nice etch work. As far as using a Qtip I cut one in half and hold it like a pencil. I use a piece of copper wire and wrap around the qtip and the transformer. Soak the qtip and now you can concentrate your etching to smaller areas. It burns...

    etch o matic

Skeet, I have used the etchomatic for years for various metal marking jobs and have found if I use a barrel stub for practice I can get good results with it. The best tip in my opinion and experience is to use a Qtip for the marking, it is easier to control for smaller lettering jobs...

    what tool to engrave barrels??

Lee, Mach3 is a windows based cnc program for my mill. Seems like most everyone around here runs Mach3 for CNC software. It has an engraving program that I use for my barrels or anything I need to engrave. I wasn't sure if you had a CNC mill or not. I used my mill in manual configuration for...

    what tool to engrave barrels??

CNC Mill Skeet, I converted my G0704 Mill to CNC and engrave my barrels with Mach3. I use a Diamond drag bit as it seems to do a nice clean job. Do you have a mill yet? I used to punch mine and even with practice using a jig it still didn't look very professional. Thanks James

    Stock inletting

Thanks for all the info guys, I had a motor control board go bad on my mill so I decided it was time to upgrade to a larger motor and a better board. I just finished my new motor mount for my 2.8hp treadmill motor and wired up my new KBMM 225D board and so far it works great. I am done with...

    Stock inletting

I usually buy my stocks with a semi inlet but could not find one so I got a Mcmillan edge flattop Rem stock. My question is what bits are you guys using to inlet the action area on a mill? I was thinking of using a core box bit maybe not sure what size. Any help would be great Thanks James

    Rechamber

I was looking at the prints today and looks like it will clean up as you said. The rifle is a 15 year old Ruger 77 300 win Mag stainless 24" gun, not sure if it has an exact model number to it, I will have to look and see if I can identify it better. Just checked and its a MarK II ... Thanks
