I use two rubber bands, one on each weight to get those apart when that happens. Hmmmm never tired adding a little grease to the threads. I'll have to try that and see what what I get.

James, really????? :) It all has to do with the way the Germans use the word "von" as in "of." so I'm Roger of Ahrens. The actual town we're from was either Ahrensbok or Ahrensburg. Not sure because the Ellis Island records can be a little funny (family left Germany just before WWI)...
