    Good email for Dave Apple?

Hey guys, I’d like to get in touch with Dave Apple. Anyone have a current email address? The one from his profile here gets bounced. PM me or email me at gregs_shell_account@yahoo.com

Hello everyone! New guy here looking for suggestions

If you love that 257 Weatherby Mag, don't shoot it in that competition. You'll end up hating it pretty quickly. There are a ton of used 6 PPC and 30 BR rifles in the classifieds.

want to build a 6ppc that will shoot a 95 grain bib to 300 yds

6 SRB, 6 Dune, 6 RAT, 6 FATRAT, yadda.... It's a great idea for someone with a PPC boltface. With Randy's 95, I use a standard 6 BR, 10 twist, with ~ 30.7 grains of Varget. You really need 104 thou freebore. If your 6 BR reamer has less, say 85 thou, try the Berger 90 BT. I shoot it with...

    Air Rifle Decision

Getting back on topic... Any legal issues aside, the 25 cal Benjamin Marauder does a fine job of pest control. It is, however, a PCP. You can play with the factory trigger, but it is two stage. Drives me crazy. I'd love to have a crisp single stage at a pound or two. But *crisp*.

    VFS gun weight limits?

It's the same as one of the nodes for the 30 BR, too. It's a wonderful place to be. There are lower nodes, but few people use them.

    VFS gun weight limits?

Perhaps the AA 6.5 Grendel brass is now made by Hornady. In the past, it was made by Lapua. For example, see http://www.precisionfirearms.com/29.html . I went the same route, originally, because I had a PPC boltface. I now have BR boltface in that action and I'm still shooting a 30 Major...

    VFS gun weight limits?

The Alexander Arms brass is made by Lapua and is sometimes much less expensive.

3 lbs is a lot to leave on the table...

    Foam bore cleaners?

Hmmm. Something fishy happening there, Jerry. I have very good results with Patch Out.

    Foam bore cleaners?

Jerry, The PatchOut stuff needs dwell time. Less if you use the Accelerator, but it still needs it. I use the WipeOut foam when I shoot something at the range and take it home to clean. I put it in, plug both ends, and head home. Works great. Greg J.

    Smoking Berger 105 Hybrids

You guys know this, but in case a new guy reads, velocity isn't the core issue. Jacket separation is core issue. It's generally caused by a combination of things. Like velocity and twist rate. Sometimes rifling profile can be a factor.

You might, then, try LT-32. I'm using it in my 30 Major. It's a pain to get enough in, but it shoots great.

Stiffening a wood stock with epoxy/carbon

If you are just looking for a finish, then the hydro dip kinds of finishes might work well. Won't do anything for stiffness, though. You can wrap a stock in layups. Some of the most popular benchrest stocks going are balsa and carbon fiber inside wrapped in a shell of carbon fiber. They are...

Stiffening a wood stock with epoxy/carbon

I don't think that you're going to spray carbon fiber on. The strength comes from the fibers being in tension. The epoxy matrix only holds it in place. If you have a wood stock now, you might start with sawing it in half top to bottom along its full length, doing a layup as if gluing the two...

Thanks. Of course, I'm familiar with N130 in the 30 BR. Just a little whiplash with you saying that you switched to N133 and then saying that your friend set records with N130. Keep in mind that I don't know diddly about the hunter cases. I keep thinking that someone shoot will one in UBR...

VV 130, David? There is a N130, but you previously mention N133. Just curious.

    Newbie with questions

Just be aware that no one rifle/cartridge is going to be ideal at all ranges. Something that is ideal at 100-200 won't be so great at 600.

    Building My first gun

There are a lot of little things to shooting off a bench that might benefit. Making sure that the forearm doesn't have slop in the front bag. Ditto for the butt and the rear. Your rear bag should be super stable. If it is rounded on the bottom and is rocking around, weird things can happen...
