    Nightforce Problem?

Thanks for the replies Jim and Bill. I have shot a few times at 1000 with a different scope. I am shooting a 6BRX with the Berger 105 Hybrids at 3005 fps. I have a 12X42 BR model with a 20 MOA base. Not getting on target was probably driver error. I do have 1000 settings but they may be a little...

    Nightforce Problem?

Nightforce Problem Solved I have only had my Nightforce a couple weeks now. It tracks fine and the adjustments are right on. I have been shooting out to 600 without a problem. Tried 1000 today. I couldn't get on the target. I noticed that after I adjusted the parallax the numbers were lined up...

    Nightforce Reticle

I have decided on a reticle. All the dealers seem to be stuck on $1428. Is there a better deal out there? Thanks. Frank

    Nightforce Reticle

Seriously looking to buy a Nightforce 12-42 Benchrest scope. Lot of money on my retirement budget. I would like to get the proper reticle for 600-1000 the first time. Looks like the NP-2DD or CH-3. Which is the #1 choice for most old folks? Thanks. Frank

    Firing Pin Spring

I have been searching for an hour and can't find what I need. I have Remington action that has fired over 3K rounds. I am sure it is time for a new firing pin spring. What should I buy and from who. Thanks for all the great info over the last four years. Later! Frank

    Static problems

I wasn't going to reply to this thread because it has become a pissing match but. The poster above that said to wash your plastic measure measure and tubes hit the nail on the head. The paragraph below will explain. It is no accident that almost all powder containers are a special black plastic...

Bushnell Elite 4200 SF scope elevation issues; What rings and/or bases do you use?

My 4200 8X32X40 easily has enough adjustment to reach 800 with my 105 Bergers @3000 FPS. Later! Frank

    Rear Bag Recommendation

My rifle does not fit my rear bag. My stock is a Richards BR laminated. The bottom of the butt stock is essentially flat and parallel with the forearm. It is 1 & 3/8" wide all the way. I am going to have to order a new bag and sure would like to get it right the first time. I think a two or...

    Not Enough Windage

Thank you Dennis! I followed your directions and gained four more inches @100 yards. I am waiting on a new barrel and reamer right now. I will have my gunsmith check out the barrel/action alignment. It was supposed to have been done when we built it. Later! Frank

    Not Enough Windage

I think the root problem is the the holes in the action are off center a little. I bought the Burris Tactical to get an extra .5" height. Looks like something less than .125" would cause this problem. I tried Dennis's solution and looks like I picked up several inches. Won't know for sure until...

    Not Enough Windage

Just remove a Leupold standard base with rings. I installed new Burris two piece bases and Tactical Rings. I had to shim the rear base to get enough elevation for 600. The problem is I only have 1 inch of right windage left. What can I do now? Later! Frank

    Pinning Recoil Lug

Thanks for the replies. All I am concerned about is getting the new barreled action back in the same place one time only. It will be several years, maybe never, before this one will come off. The bedding is absolutely perfect. I can take action out of the stock, re-install it and have it shoot...

    Pinning Recoil Lug

When I had my Rem. action trued and barreled five years ago my gunsmith asked if I wanted the lug pinned. I asked him why. I think he said it was to insure that the lug would be in the right place in the bedding when changing barrels. I thought it was for shooters that changed barrels frequently...
