I remember a Super Shoot from the mid '90's when Brady Knight and Wilbur had a little 'bet' going. The conversation went something like this:
Brady: Wilbur, I'll bet you a watch (or something) on the next group.
Wilbur: Nope, I ain't bettin' my watch.
B: Then how about a pack of Nabs.
W. Lemme see your Nabs first.
B: (showing Wilbur a pack of Nabs that looked like they had gone through a barroom brawl) Here you go.
W: Them Nabs looks pretty pore. You'll have to bet two packs of those to my one pack.
B: O.K.
W: (turning to me and remarking) He's so easy it's like clubbin' baby seals. He just looks at you and blinks.
Brady lost his Nabs.
Y'all better be careful now, y'heah?
James, that is a true story. I still laugh over it at times.Mickey that made me laugh so hard it brought tears to my eyes, thanks
I like the baby seals part Wilbur
James
Bob, at least he don't talk about me behind my back. You just described the majority BR shooters.
"an inconsequential competitor number who didn't do much more than donate his entry fee.......jackie"
Jackie,Many of us will be meeting, (hopefully), at Rachels Glenn this Fall. Maybe we can "settle" this little wager then. I will bring an extra dollar.
During the HV 200, I will shoot my Sporter, and let Wilbur shoot my HV.......jackie
What about wind flags???????????????? Are they "Gadgets"? Since I have no job now maybe I need to drive up and check on my mentor.
Jackie, I think that's the only viable weekend that Wilbur could find. I'm sure he'll see this and get in touch with me if we can move it. Suits me to move it.That is the week end just after the Buffalo Shoot in Midland. Since I compete for our Shooter of the Year in The Gulf Coast Region, I can not miss it.
The Buffalo Shoot is also a World Team Qualifyer. That means a lot more shooters will be attending than usual, so it is a must that I attend.
There will be no way I can travel 1000 miles one week end, and just drive right past Houston and go 600 miles east, and then back, the next week.
You wouldn't consider moving the date again, would you.?? I really look forward to that trip to Rachels Glenn every year that I can.........jackie
Jackie,I would settle for later in the year, even after the Nationals. Although I am not a South East Region Member, that is one several of us from over here try to support.
I really can't seem to get excited about going to Pheonix this year. Just the fuel cost will be close to $1800+, that is if the cost per gallon isn't at $6.00 by the time October gets here.
I enjoy coming over to Rachels Glenn more than I do going to the Nationals anyway........jackie
What's happening this weekend? Gun show?best thread I have ever read on this forum. I too laughed out loud. What a pleasure to hear everyone is having a good time. Mickey, my son and I are looking forward to seeing you and Jim in Monkeytown this Saturday. Be safe, see ya..
What's happening this weekend? Gun show?
Is it a shriner's show or at the civic center? What time will y'all be there?Yes. Jeff called me on Tuesday and asked me if I could go with him. He said you and Jim would be there.
