Got Gadgets?

No takers yet.....

I guess the gadgets don't carry as much weight as I thought.

O.K., you are on.............................but if you come back and say you can still beat me with my own gun (as in club me over the head with it or some such sort), well, I have to warn you that I have alot of practice dodging irrate girlfriends trying to do same.............Don

Did I mention I would shoot with no neck tension....just stick the bullet in with my fingers....

Did I mention that I have .278 and .282 neck reamers that I could run into a 6PPC chamber shooting .243 bullets, that ought to give a good .005-.010 neck to bullet clearance, without sizing, so that there will be plenty of room for all that finger seating.............Don

I'm still trying to figure out if this is just "smack talk" or not.

Wibur's Neck Turning Secret

I've seen Wilbur neck turn his cases. This is his secret!!!

Chucks a case in a cordless drill (350 rpm?) Jams the sucker down in the neck turning tool (dry), and pulls it out. He's done in 5 seconds.
Obviously... this technique has merit as to match winning case prep.

"Gadgets? We ain't got no gadgets. I don't have to show you no stinking gadgets!"

Skip Otto would do 'em fast too - but he'd use a bit of his Secret Formula lube...

So, whens the big match?

Wilber, Have you got a victim yet? I'm looking forward cto the results.Maybe try Lou Murdica, he has tried most of the gadgets.

Actually, the logistics (and cost) of the proposal (as I imagined it) is prohibitive. I would, however, enjoy going against the "perfectionist" where every detail is considered - with no more than I stated.

Wilbur,
If I remember correctly, you are using the ultimate piece of non-standard equipment.... unobtainium powder. Ya think that's why Lou is going to all the trouble to have T recreated? Could it be that having the right powder is the key to your challenge, or were you planning on using something that is available?:D

Boyd Allen

Boyd,
I probably have between a little and alot of almost all the "unobtainable" powders and you haven't seen me winning much as of late. Wilbur has more than just that going for him.

I've got an old jug of 322 that's been in the trunk since last I shot. I've got some TAC left I think...prefer the 322...but I'll shoot the same powder as the other sucke...uh...perfectionist.

You don't have a case straightener, or a chargemaster, or nuthin'?

More gadgets???????????????????????????

Well lets see, since you will only be using a primer knock out pin, priming tool, and a powder dropper for gadgets...................I think I will add some of those windflag gadgets to my list, also a tuner, scope checker, borescope, a good accurate lathe & tooling, and a lie detector machine to determine when somebody is yanking my chain.

Now the latter 4 gadgets will not directly help my 200 yard aggregates but they are gauranteed to give me a better understanding and knowledge of why certain things happen the way they do in BR...........Don

Wilbur is a lot smoother than he lets on.

I remember a Super Shoot from the mid '90's when Brady Knight and Wilbur had a little 'bet' going. The conversation went something like this:

Brady: Wilbur, I'll bet you a watch (or something) on the next group.
Wilbur: Nope, I ain't bettin' my watch.
B: Then how about a pack of Nabs.
W. Lemme see your Nabs first.
B: (showing Wilbur a pack of Nabs that looked like they had gone through a barroom brawl) Here you go.
W: Them Nabs looks pretty pore. You'll have to bet two packs of those to my one pack.
B: O.K.
W: (turning to me and remarking) He's so easy it's like clubbin' baby seals. He just looks at you and blinks.

Brady lost his Nabs.

Y'all better be careful now, y'heah? ;)

We had an old saying in the fishing store.....

"Fishing Lures are designed to catch Fisherman, not Fish!"

I've come to the conclusion "that saying applies to gadgets too........"

And you should see my 5 tackle boxes........ none of the stuff catch fish..... but I do have fun trying...
