I have been cleaning .22 rimfire firearms the same way for 40+ years........Is there any new methods, chemicals etc. that I should consider that may be better/safer these days ?.....I still use a bronze brush.....yes or no?..........how often is necessary with the newer ammo and cleaning...

Possible solution Listened to many experienced bench shooters, posts on this site and a Sierra Bullet Tech who suggested a "super" cleaning of the bore...especially the throat area.......Wipe Out and many strokes with J-B........shot a local weekly match today......amazing what can be done...

Factory barreled .223, 77 gr. Sierra in a 1 in 7", started to key hole first shot after cleaning......following shots group very well........this condition started after several hundred rounds, cleaning every 15-20........... Barry

kroil many years ago, Walt Berger advised me to clean with Kroil when using moly bullets, when running a patch soaked with Kroil through the bore it came out the same as it went in, no change??? After a a recent rebarreling the gunsmith, a good one, advised me to shot molyed bullets through...

My Tikka T3 .223 with 1-8 twist shot 80gr Noslers seated long over about 25 grs of Varget started with WSR primers very well. They will not fit in the clip.....I used a stripper clip to start each round in to the chamber....a pain but it was worth for the groups out to 400 yards. A friend...
