    Looks like Remington

Figured out part of the problem... My kid had messed with my bondhaus allen wrench set and mixed in a China made wrench, and luckily for me it did not strip out the allen heads like I thought. I was able to get them loose by applying FP10 oil and slowing working them out. I change out the...

    Looks like Remington

I take back what I said in earlier post... I did adjust one of the new x-mark pro triggers a month ago just fine. I have three other Rem 700 SA varmints that I tried adjusting today, and all three had so much dam locktite and epoxy over the 1/16 allen screw that my bondhaus allen wrench just...

    Looks like Remington

There is the old and new x-mark pro trigger... The original post left out that Rem. changed the x-mark pro trigger about 6 months ago. The old x-mark pro had the two screws in front just like the Rem 700 triggers from the last 10 years. The New x-mark pro has an outside adjustable 1/16 allen...

what would be a good cartridge to build on a 223 bolt face for 300 yards and in BR?

DanW... Do what I did... I put the .223 bolt on the bench... I bought a Dave Kiff PTG bolt in 6PPC w/sako extractor... You can use the .308 bolt with the remington spring extractor and it works 95% of the time on a 6PPC, but sometimes it only pulls the cases out 1/2" before coming off the rim...

who actually has a BR gun built on a Trued model 700 action?

DanW I have several Rem 700 SA with BR barrels... I have two 6BR, one 22BR, and one 6PPC...all Rem 700 SA... I bought the new 6PPC bolt from PTG Dave Kiff... I would like to point out that I am mostly a varmint shooter... I shoot varmint for score matches...a little... I like my Rem 700 SA...

    PPC @ 600yrd's

Chisholm is spot on... If I have a zero dead on at 100 yards I have to come up around +/- 44 clicks on a 1/4 min click scope. Please keep in mind that this is in Texas at 99 degree heat around 1000 ft elevation. Thanks...the colonel.

    Sako extractors

There is a small roll pin that holds the plunger inside the bolt You have to take a small punch and knock the roll pin out. When you see the shape of the plunger you see that you have to remove grind a small amount off the back of the groove to allow the plunger to move forward and flush with...

    Sako extractors

The post above has a pic of a bolt... The bolt plunger is below the surface of the bolt face. When it is ground down the plunger will move forward flush with the bolt face.

    Sako extractors

I had this same problem years back... I had to remove the extrator plunger and grind the back part of the plunger cutout to allow the plunger to hold the spent case a nano second longer allowing the spent case to make it to the ejection port before flipping the case out. I also changed the...

    6PPC: .262, .263, or .269 neck ???

I am using a .269 PTG reamer... I went with a Dave Kiff .269 reamer. I have my barrels chambered, but I have not had a chance to test them. I plan on testing in the next few days. All that I have read seems to say this should be a good combo. Thanks.

I feel your pain... Let me first start out by saying this is not a smartass reply... I am an AR-15 guru... My brother owns LaRue Tactical.com ... I used to shoot alot of Bushy rifles up until 10 years ago... The Bushy Q/C has slipped a long way off track... As a result of quality slipping and...

    6mm PPC Rebuild

The 6PPC reamer... I also bought my 6PPC reamer from Dave Kiff, and it came in bigger in the throat .276 than I desired(not Kiff's fault). I sent it back to have Dave regrind it to .269 in the throat because I only need to do one clean up pass if neck turning is needed, and I am trying to...

    6mm PPC Rebuild

I am currently doing a Rem 6PPC... I used the Rem 700 SA, and I bought a brand new bolt from Dave Kiff at Pacific Tool that is custom made with a 6PPC boltface and sako extractor. My gunsmith is about to chamber 3 each 6PPC barrels within the next 2 weeks, so I cannot give you a final report...

    6PPC no turn neck reamer??

You are a Patriot and Great American... I prefer someone with your experience and wisdom. Young shooter take notes...pulling the trigger and seeing the results is...priceless. Middle aged Army Colonels appreciate experience. I will hold fast to my no turn neck 6PPC...and keep you posted...

    6PPC no turn neck reamer??

Gene... We met at the Blue Bonnet shoot at Howard Dietz range. I considered the 6mm Beggs, but I wanted to stick with the 6PPC. I have Redding dies and to me forming the .220 russian to 6PPC is easy enough. So, maybe I need to stay with what Dave Kiff is telling me which is .274 neck...

    6PPC no turn neck reamer??

Has anyone measured the .220 Russian with a 6mm?? Measured the .220 Russian with a 6mm bullet seated?? I do not have any new .220 Russian, or I would seat a bullet and measure the OD. I just prefer a better varmint chamber...that is not way over size. Any info is much appreciated.
