How do I get the best out of Chronograph results

Thanks for the replies. Fortunatly I bought an older second hand unit so minimal expence and thankfully it works well but I had quesions of just what it might help with. So far I have tested some different rounds to see their consistancy and a bit surprised with what I have seen . Yet to test...

How do I get the best out of Chronograph results

I recently got a Chonograph for my rimfire bench rest shooting and have given it an initial work out having a basic understanding of what they deliver but wanted some advise on details re how and what to utilize from the information, what to look for, how many shots to use and what can I learn...

Awesome effort by both him and his team. Secondly how lucky we are to have him share his knowledge here on this site. Always plenty of people happy to share their knowledge but to have Pedro go into such detail and knowing how talented and knowledgeable he is we are truly blessed to have...

    Jeff Patterson's J-PAT SPEC Rifles

Bill your one lucky lad. I know you'll do that rifle proud. It looks amazing and from everything I heard, seen and read it shoots exceptionally so obviously all meant to be.

    Tuners!!!!

No Lee never had a V22. First range rimfire was a Walther KKM and just the 2 Anschutz mentioned. Great factory rifles just hoped for something like what was beating me and the new build is the bees knees. With time I hope to tune it to the nth degree.

    Tuners!!!!

Thanks Lee. No different lots of the same ammo to shoot at the moment but at least what I have shoots very well just not enough of it to shoot at anything other than comps. Our supply of any ammo is exceptionally low and the outlook is grim. The Anschutz situation has change over the last 12...

    Tuners!!!!

Hi Lee, I appreciate your interest. When I say different ammo I mean good batches of Lapua Cen X and Midas +. Without ample amounts of ammunition I didn't want to go through exhaustive testing with quality proven rounds to re tune so I only tried the three different setting and...

    Tuners!!!!

Thanks for the update Doghunter. I've been reading as much as I can re tuner adjustments for various ammo and settings for various distances. Seems there is two trains of thought on this with those who "set and forget" once you find the right setting and those who retune for the variation...

    Tuners!!!!

OK lets not relate my 2 questions to 20m and focus them on 50 or 100m / yards. I'd prefer to hear the experiences on that than opinions on the shooting at 20m from someone who hasn't shot it

    Tuners!!!!

That's like a SNOOKER PLAYER saying that playing POOL is a waste of time based on the size of the table. Believe me Tim until you have shot it competitively its hard to appreciate how good it is and how many struggle to score extremely consistently. All the same elements play out the same just...

    Tuners!!!!

Our range is 20m and I was confident my tuner was sorted at that distance but I also shoot at both 50m and 90m more occasionally with the same rifle with the same tuner setting. Until recently I was of the belief that a good TUNER setting was good for different ammo and at different...

What it takes to win... outside gear

I am just an onlooker reading this tread with interest and someone wanting to improve my bench rest exploits and clearly its clear there is a number of factors that make up the ingredients to reach the top but are we underestimating the value of the GUNSMITH in all of this. You can use all the...

Tell us about your Bench Rest journey.

I'm hoping that like me others here are interested to hear the journey of others from how you got involved in rimfire bench rest and the twists and turns that got you to your involvement today. It can be brief but preferably a detailed account of what rifles you've shot and your gear...

    Best 50y 22 rimfire scope

Well there's a bit of time past since this thread was active but have the Mueller now and just want to give the thumbs up for this scope. We fitted it up to a club rifle a Anschutz 1903 BR. Everyone is impressed with the scope and its operations, clarity, brightness and the cross hairs reticle...

What's the best groups I can reasonably expect ....

Testing for tuner settings is done by a couple of methods and group size is the measure, so shooting groups is a benefit to measure performance. I shoot for score but group size gives me good feed back AS WELL AS SCORE on a variety of setting, techniques and ammunition.

    Best 50y 22 rimfire scope

Fantastic Dave and I really appreciate you going to that trouble for me. Getting one here might be the next problem. No one retails them here and retailers in the US don't have them yet but I have a friend in Virginia that might be able to forward them to me. Hope yours does the job well for...

    Best 50y 22 rimfire scope

Thanks Dave. Will be pleased to hear if in fact it does focus well down to 20m/20y Much appreciated

So, what makes great 22 Rimfire ammo great?

I never see measures then accuracy reports that also then have the measured speed from chronograph test included but surely that would have plenty of relevance.
