I ask for chamber neck size advice.

Update on my confusion process. I ordered 6br Lapua brass, neck expander mandrel and die body. Still slightly undecided but I think I'll unsrew the barrel and check the neck, along with some other things. Depending on what I find there I may get a reamer sized to my preference. Since a real...

    Covered Rifle Range Firing Line

If open sides then a significant pitch down to the rear seems to help bounce the noise away from the shooters too.

    Ballistic help wanted

Will the ballistics calculators not help with this? I use Hornady's online calculator lately, it's good for how smart I am.

I ask for chamber neck size advice.

I've been thinking of all that but there's a reason for my madness. I think it's a McGown barrel, it does have quite a few rounds threw it but was shooting it's best when I quit shooting. Short of finding someone to chamber it, I'll buy a reamer and do it here. And, the SMK were doing just fine...

I ask for chamber neck size advice.

Good to know. What size do the Lapua come out if unturned? You answered my next question with the .306". Thinking I'm going to hunt for a good gunsmith with a proper size reamer too.

I ask for chamber neck size advice.

Well, this is moot point, I just found Norma 6br brass to use. Yippee.

I ask for chamber neck size advice.

I have a 7BR in my old bench gun that I'd like to get recut with a tighter neck. I think it's a factory chamber now. I'll be forming cases for it of course, so my dilemma comes from not knowing what works best for the new neck in this situation. I'm understanding that an extra thick neck from...

Tell me about Borden Bumps on bolts.

Great, answers found. My reasons for this coming to mind is thinking of poor triggers, and that for a trigger to work well it'd have to have a sear with reliable positioning. Bumps would sure be a good solution to that issue. I have a Mauser with a Mcgowan 7br on it and some model of sako...

Yep, pretty much trying to confirm the method of creation, for lack of a better term.

Tell me about Borden Bumps on bolts.

I've been assuming in order for Jim to do this he made new bolts with the bumps on the bodies, as oppsed to somehow adding them to existing bolts? Seems like the only logical way, unless I'm missing something.

    Flat shooting varment calibre

I wish I would have realized that saving fur was way down on the priority list. I just didn't read that into the first post.

Is the range GPS listing defunct?

I tried emailing in some info to the posted address to Rich Hackett and got a delivery failure notification. Is there a new address or does the '05 update date tell the story? The most well organized, and by far the best range in the area, the Emerald Empire Gun Club is on McGowen Creek Rd...

    Getting back to weighing powder

Not just in this thread, but lots of posts I see where guys are dismissing lots of maybes just because they can't put a finger on it. I have no money to spend on things to prove errors or not, but I sure don't want to leave something on the table that I can eliminate as an error in my setup.

    Checking seating pressure.

I'd like to see a followup to that and see the differences in pull when the bullets are pulled a couple weeks later. Wondering if they all even out or stay erratic like when seated.

    Checking seating pressure.

One problem with having a tattle tail reading is that when you come to full seat the pressure slightly spikes up. From all my looking so far it seems the K&M is the only one on the market at this time? As for the seated round that doesn't stack up to the others, setting it aside and grouping...
