Help on loading for Rem 260

Brass is here. http://www.grafs.com/metallic/692 They deliver to your door for $4.75, or did the last time I ordered. I believe phone orders are another dollar shipping. That`s still cheaper then a 35 mi each way.

Help on loading for Rem 260

Grayfox offered good advice. I`d add though for a younger shooter you might want to look at Noslers 100 gr Partition for deer and the ballistictip for everything else. I`ve found the 100 gr BT to be very accurate in 2 different 260s and the partition was designed for deer with the 260 Rem...

    Knife help?

Case is American made. Benchmade "Blue box" knifes are American made, "Red Box" models are made in asia. Buck I believe is mostly US assembeled but, has some brands made in Asia also. Gerber is owned by Fiskars (Dutch) and I`ve heard can be made in both the states or over seas. Schrade I hear...

    Modern pressures for .257 Roberts???

SAAMI pressure max for the 257 RBTS is 45K "CUP" the +P version is 48K "CUP" this is not a psi measurment. SAAMI PSI max pressure is 54,000 and thre +P is 58 K. The 58K load is not far from most modern cartridge loadings. All manuals I know of load to the SAAMI specs -both std and +P- and are...

to crimp or not to crimp

I believe you`re refering to Speers statment that a Lee "Factory Crimp Die" was detrimental to accuracy if used on a un-cannalured bullet. The war seems to be still going in some circles. Lee users swear Speer knows nothing of their bullets and others don`t believe a crimp helps.. From Speers...

    WD 40 -- Any Uses?

I use it to wash out harsh bore cleaners such as JB or Rem Clean, or spray down a shotgun that was dunked or rained on in the duck marsh. For rust prevention and lubrication CLP or FP-10 are used.

    7mm08 factory loads?

No 125gr but, 120gr, 150gr 168gr, 139gr.....http://www.midwayusa.com/browse/BrowseProducts.aspx?pageNum=1&tabId=3&categoryId=7947&categoryString=653***690*** The 149 is a good choice for deer sized game, the 120 Nosler BT is another. I`ve used the 139 gr Hornady on deer along with the 140...

How far out can I expect explosive bullet performance?

Nosler uses the same jacket for their 7mm 120 gr BT as the 140 gr BT, the difference is they cut a touch off the nose to shorten it to proper lenght. This results in a very tough thick jacketed bullet, one that works well on deer/sheep sized game. I doubt a dog offers enough resistance at most...

Just purchased Kimber 84M in .223 and need help

I`ve had very good luck with either H4895 or Benchmark and the 52gr Hornady or Sierra match Hps`. One rifle has a 1/9" twist the other a 1/12". Heavier bullets (55-69gr) over Varget work quite well also, but I see no real world difference out to 200-250 yds with them in either wind or drop. Also...

Just purchased Kimber 84M in .223 and need help

I agree with LHSmith`s assessment of heat getting to your barrel. I`ve a M84Classic in 260 that heats very quick due to the pencil wgt barrel they use. The extreem light weight of the rifle overall also is not condusive to accurate shooting without some concintration. The fluted barrels they use...

    M700 trigger adjustment?

I`m seriously concidering having someone look at it. I`m certainly not the worlds most qualified:D As I said I`ve play with it some but I`m a bit leery of going much further on the adjustments. It works and appears safe now, I don`t want to go too far and create a unsafe trigger that bites me 6...

    M700 trigger adjustment?

The trigger was cleaned when the broken part was replaced a couple weeks ago. I don`t think that is the problem but, I will try giving it a rinse with lighter fluid and blow it out just in case... I don`t know the part that was replaced but I took the rifle in when the sear was tripping as the...

    M700 trigger adjustment?

Hello, I`ve a M700 that has seemed to have developed a bit of creep over the years. I recently had it repaired (a broken part replace) and hoped the creep problem would go away when it was done. Nope! Didn`t happen. I finally gave in and decided to play with it myself. I have adjusted a couple...
