Marlin XL7 experience?

Do any of you folks own the new Marlin XL7 bolt gun? I have read some positive reviews in the gun rags, but you know how that goes...What I am looking for is some real-world reveiws by actual owners. Most "economy" models I have examined are somewhat cheesey and I guess that explains the price. For around $300 what do you get with that new Marlin? Thanks...
 
I`ve seen a few reports on the 24hr campfire site that were very positive. The concensus there is they are very accurate and a good value.
I`m interested in what posters here feel....
 
It has good features, it's well thought out. I don't see any obvious design flaws (like are found in Mauser/Ruger/Winchester/Sako etc....) in the rifle. I'll guess that the fit and finish are typical, functional Marlin. I wouldn't hesitate to try one.

IMO the MR-7 is also a fantastic value but Joe The Public evidently disagreed.

The one's that I have seen shot where very good.
After all it is a exact copy of a Savage.
The Stevens are shooters also.
What caliber are you lookig at?
