A JR league is always a good Idea to learn the basics and a coach other than dad is a good idea (learned that from experence) but are you trying to get her into centerfire or smallbore? Prone or 4 position?

Never say I'm not ready! I shoot with a guy who has had a Benchrest rifle for 3 years and still is not ready to go to a match. Jump in with both feet when you get there ask for somebody to "show you the ropes" and have a ball. Good Luck

Should a "good" gunsmith be able to take an action. Take the needed measurments and fit a barrel to that action without having the action in hand during the whole process?
