    Congratulations Sir Charles

Congratulations Charles and all the other winners. You've done us proud! You're a class guy and a fierce competitor. You never stumbled the whole time. Great job. Gene was also right there again, almost making it 4 in a row! Texas has got to be proud! Larry

    Worlds Results Australia

Amazing so many countries did not make it to Australia. I heard the entry problems to bring guns in/out were incredible. Sweden, France, Austria, Spain .... etc., no show. Too bad only 76 shooters are attending; you really had to want to participate to go through the paperwork. Some of the...

    Jeff Summers again...HV Grand agg

Jerry, I only went to two of the five qualifiers last year so I did not have the minimum of three to qualify. Staying home. Larry.

WWCCA Fall Classic Match Recap ~ Joe Krupa Takes The 2-Gun!

Congratulations Joe; it's nice to see you have a little time to shoot again. The last couple of years you've been working way too hard. You need to come out and play! Poor Jack is the one that right now is working, working, working. He could only attend a few days at the NBRSA nationals. You're...

    2013 Purple Haze - HV and 2gun

I sure do like them lizards. That picture don't do you justice, but hey, it's hard to compete with the geckos! Good shooting old man. I'll buy you a glass or two of your favorite wine at the Cactus. Be good. Larry

    Amazing year...still in shock!

Now Bill, you being from Arcadia (30 miles east of me), and not from Myakka (that's me), it is understandable that you would confuse a Hog with a Cow (e, i, e, i, o).... I would let you know that if any hog comes into Myakka from Arcadia ways, we are ready to poison them severely with a variety...

IBS Group Shooter of the Year, Russell Rains

Good shooting Russel. Enjoyed shooting next to you. On top of that you're good people. Keep it up. Larry

    Amazing year...still in shock!

Jerry, To answer your question takes a lot since I don't know what you do right or wrong. The short version: Make sure everything on the bench is secure. Bags can't be hard. Feel comfortable. Be smooth, don't lift your head after every shot. Call each shot. Practice holding. I hold almost every...

    Amazing year...still in shock!

Peter, The bullets I made (not selling any) are basically a copy of Lowell's old boat tail. I have used only J4 jackets so far. I have only used cores made by Charlie Hood in .5% Antimony. The dies that I am using were made by Detsch. So far I have used four lots of jackets, soft and thin all...

    Amazing year...still in shock!

First thanks for all the kind words; in this sport that is certainly the biggest reward we hope for. Sincerely, thank you. A few years ago I told Billy Stevens I was going to chamber my own barrels, he wisely told me to expect to screw up for a while. Yep, I did. A couple of years latter I...

    Tubal 3000 powder use?

Dangerous crap. Bought some brand new a few years back, stored in air conditioned shop at all time, yet it self destructed at 72 degrees. Bulged jug, hot and smoky when I opened it. Use it as fertilizer.

Some discussion on the "new" IBS target, please.

I sure had trouble seeing. Shooting south, lots of mirage and terrible targets. As some of you guys know I score at our match in Florida. To me, when shooters come to our match it's all about the shooters, not about the scorer. I've scored thousands of targets and I never thought the dark ring...

Jeff Summers Wins Tennessee State Championship

Congratulations Jeff. Looks like you had a great time. From what I read, you only left a couple of pieces of wood for the other fellows. I'd almost have to call you a little selfish.... Be good, Larry

    St. Louis results?

George, From what Scott said, one of the disciplines that shoot there use bipods and that is the reason they changed the tops and require super feet. Those shooters shoot 600 yards and want the bipod to come back smoothly. Okay by me. Larry

    St. Louis results?

I just want to thank the folks at St. Louis who put on a great match as usual. It is a sad indicator of the times that only 56 shooters attended such a prestigious match that is so well run. As I talked to the other shooters there was a consistent theme of expense, component shortages and the...

Bart Sauter Wins 2013 Gene Mowell Memorial Tournament at River Bend

Looks like you all had fun and Bart / Billy and Dana, lots of congrats. Next time Bart you need to ease up on these guys, NOT. Larry

Larry Costa Wins Shamrock XII...Buddy Ross nipping at his heels. Here are the results

The rumor on the tuner that both me and Buddy shot being mine is correct. I had some spare time this winter and it was just something to do. Nothing special, just a hunk of metal... As you will see in the match report, Buddy shoots Billy Stevens gunsmithed equipment and Brady's bullets. I did...

Saw a nice rifle for sale yesterday:

Pete, to answer your question, Richard is as tall as I am (no short jokes please...), skinny and a crusty old Navy guy. He's a good guy. He may be the fellow that scored the match, don't know. I'll tell you it has been a real pleasure working with the Sarasota County and City Police. These guys...
