need help with a hunter class gun

I shoot hunter class with something very close to that combo. My barrel is a 1/15 though. 168's may be a little heavy for that twist. I'd try Berger 150's or 135's. I'm shooting 135's with a VERY mild load of BL-(c)2. You don't see that powder much in BR these days(ball powders are usually more...

    Cheap .22 barrels?

Thanks for the info. Out of curiosity, just how much does one of those weigh?

    Cheap .22 barrels?

I have a CZ 452 Varmint in 17HM2. It shoots fairly well, but I've been disappointed in it compared to .22's that I have. The way it was shooting I was feeling somewhat like it may have been the ammunition. After reading a post on here a few days ago regarding run-out of some Eley .17HM2 ammo I...

    So much to learn

If you want to try it first, before you dive in then I would recommend a gun that could be sold easily, or put to some other good use. As such I would say that 243 is a very good choice. A 308 is just on the edge of doing 1000 yards, but could really use a little extra case capacity. 300 WM is...

    Cz 527 varmint

I really have to disagree with most of your list. You also can't really lump all Mauser's, FAL's or AR's into one group. If you're going to then for crying out loud a CZ 527 is a Mauser.

    Hart 3 groove

This may be a little off topic, but are there any ideas with regard to why the old Marlin Micro Groove barrels they put on those Sako L46 actions seemed to burn out so fast? They had something like 10 grooves and they seemed shallow. Did they burn out because of shallow grooves, or bad steel...

    Cz 527 varmint

Most factory guns out there aren't going to shoot really well w/o some bedding work and lapping the lugs. The exceptions might be Sako and Tikka(another Sako). Your lugs however were particularly bad. For more accuracy ditch that Remington brass. Winchester is a little better, but won't yield...

    Cz 527 varmint

Stop using Winchester primers! They are the softest out there. Steer clear of brass colored primers. Get a nickel primer like a CCI or Federal.

    Hart 3 groove

I've been told the Lilja 3-groove doesn't copper foul as bad as most. You guys think this is because of the grooves, or something else?

    Nostalgia question--mid '80's, 6PPC, and 322

Would anyone besides Forrester be interested in a run of Ball C (1)? I most certainly would if the price were reasonable.

Stock Rules, Regulations, and Questions in General.

I'm building two stocks for CZ 452's and would like some recommendations. I bought enough walnut for two with plenty of fat left over. I'm a noob and don't know what rules I must abide by with regard to certain stock dimensions and gun weight. Any info as well stock preferences among you guys...
