Forn all general purposes, the only difference in a XP-100 and it's longer cousins, (Rem 700, 600, 660Model 7, 40x, etc), is the length of the action. All of that length is added toward the rear.
The barrel threads, tenon, and everything else is the same. In other words, you could take a barrel off of a Rem 700 and screw it right onto a XP, and, barring any manufactruring tolerances that might have got stacked, it would work just fine.
As far as the trigger goes, once you get past that linkage that allows the factory XP to function as a mid-grip pistol, the trigger that is actually attached to the action is the same.
Incidentally, If I am not mistaken, all the way back to the Rem 721-722, the barrel threads, tenons, and the such are pretty much the same as well. There are some differences in later model bolts, as they added a guide rail on the right side, but the bolt face, counterbore, nose, etc ispretty much the same as well.
Remingtons are sort of like Small Block Chevys. They kept a lot of the basic stuff the same through the years, making life very easy for the Hot Rodder, That is, unless you get into that "788 thing"......jackie
