I have recently acquired a action that is stamped Cooper- New Ulm Texas#35. It is a single shot and I think it was made in the 80's. Can anyone give me some info on this thing. Thanks.

I believe that John Jones now owns that rifle. Ralph Council had it for a few years, but John obtained it later. I don't know if he still has it, but he did 2 to 3 years ago. Ralph had some problems with the bolt and it has been replaced at least twice. I don't know if one can obtain parts for this action any more, but it certainly is famous because of its days in the HWH. Good shooting... James

I think Geramo Villareal has that old action now. He got it from John. It was in an old McMillian Stock, painted green.
It has reccessed bolt luggs like a Hall. It looks like it has had about a million rounds through it...........jackie
