why i don't use Google

You have to realize with ANY of these "free" services.....If you aren't paying for the service; then you ARE the service.

O I have heard that they have more storage capacity than the government, and they do coperate with the gubiment. Boy it is big brother for sure. I think it is time to be very careful about what you say on public forums. We are so close to a pure socialist government it is scary.

Dear Donald:

Read a few books. It has always been wise to watch what you say in public. Collecting data on citizens has been done by monarchs, dictators, fascists states, democratic states, socialist states, communist states, and any other category you can come up with. Also, find a few more books to distinguish between progressives, leftists, socialists, communists, etc. And that's just one side of center. TV soundbites appeal to the emotions; they're not designed to educate.

I know, doesn't matter, because you are a rock-solid conservative. In 1776, you'd have been for King George.

I'd suggest my approach. As a curmudgeon, I don't like any of them. Just have to watch out not to become a solipsist.

Or a crosspatch!!
Jerry, I thought we were avoiding shooting. A crosspatch is for muzzleloaders.

Besides, in spite of the truncated definitions given by modern dictionaries, I don't consider the two synonymous, and prefer "curmudgeon."

Edit:

For example, look a the girl whatisname got in Father Goose. Now I don't look like Cary Grant, and already have a wife, but even a curmudgeon can fantasize. I doubt Leslie Caron would consider a crosspatch.

Google scraper

Use Scroogle Scraper as your search method: http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm

It 'scrapes' the info from Google so you get the same search info w/o all the nasty downsides...holding the info relative to your ISP, etc, etc.

You're welcome, Tim. Scroogle has been my default search engine for a couple of years, now. No site is 100% safe..whatever the definition of 'safe' is. The best thing to do is take reasonable precautions and exercise common sense with this stuff. Believe me, if someone really wants to track a person down it can be done with only a few minutes looking on the web. 'Handles' and other names only make the poster feel good about being secure and offer z-e-r-o protection. No need for tin foil hats.

Though in my day job we've been known to stick a piece of tin foil in our pockets as an Anti Death Aid when we're working with a critically injured patient. Long story on how that started.......;)

From a International news wire ""Over 11 million websites have been blacklisted and banned by Google. A massive block of websites registered for free through the co.cc subdomain have been silenced..............
""

So I guess this prooves Google controls what they want you to find on the web, just like Communism!!

Edit- I just found out my Norton antivirus will not allow forwarding a web address that has the .co.cc domain EVEN IN THE TEXT OF AN EMAIL. So, use google if you want your emails read and censored. Where are we going?

An explanation

I dont know how far it goes but I do know certain govts. around the world require google to sensor locations based on the governments preferences.
As I recall there was a big hoopla a year or so ago about the Chinese trying to restrict Google's workings in China. At that time it was undecided what Google was going to do but the word was they were going to pull out of China.
Govts can restrict basic access to what websites their citizens can access, though as we all know there are ways around this.
