Those beans might come in handy if you get trapped at a range. Check the rules for what type of shooting you're going to do and find out what's legal. Most folks have a rear bag with "ears" filled with some fine sand and a front bag filled with the same...on a front rest. You can spend some real money on rests and bags...but it's never wasted money if you intend to compete.
Some events do not require sandbags at all but the alternative is more expensive...on the short end. Like I wrote - real money.
