What affects size of impact groups?

I am under the impression that the quality of the scope, the barrel and the ammo affect the size of a target impact group, given that the skill of the shooter remains constant. Am I correct?

Yes, all those and external conditions as well.

You are correct, but there are a lot more factors than those in your post.

Barrel, bullets, bedding at the top of a long list. I include a good chamber in "barrel". I'd put the *quality* of the scope some ways down the list as long it was holding POI.

I have a bud. Smart guy, but hard headed. He bought an expensive production AR, put an $800 scope on it. He is handloading with premium components and doing everything to the Nth degree. Oh, never mind. We've all seen this particular movie...
