Visalia Benchrest Match Saturday 100
We started off with the Hv class 100 yards this morning with around 28 shooters. Light switching conditions but you could lose a bullet quick. It started out in the 60’s getting to the mid 90’s and 30% humidity. Dennis Thornbury was doing a good job keeping in front until his rifle decided to shoot his its self in the foot. I think it was Joe Stanovich’s angry bird that did it. Joe is the only one that brings his closet hobby with him to the shoots, which is a whole Angry Bird family in a little basket. He communicates with them at a regular basis to help him with his powder load, this is another story. Marty and Jack Childers showed up with Jack’s new pick up truck with Henry Pinkney in the bed of the truck for the match. Jack forced his wife to LET him get a new truck just before she retired, that was great of him to let her do. Lou Murdica showed up after he just came back with his tour bus trip from back east and was red hot with his shooting today winning both the Hv & UL 100 yard matches, it must have been the way I set his flags and the help from Dennis and then Dan Lutke after he decided to try and push two bullets through the barrel at one time and only had enough powder for one and had powder all over the action and even though Don Nielson tried to blow the powder out he got light headed and we had to get a wet towel to cool him down. Dan was not able to get things back together before time ran out and was in first place before this happened, sorry
Dan but Lou really appreciated it. Lou was shooting his Lt-32 with a light load of 27.3 and using a Doc March action that he just put together to try for this match.
