Hi Guys,
Still sifting through my late fathers shooting stuff. Found 1000 vihtavuori small rifle primers. I haven't seen these available in Australia for many years. Question are they still available in the US. If so are they used in BR at all. If not when do you think they were last made.
Regards - Andy.

probably a code stamped on the box..maybe a date in the code

I saw a couple of people selling some about 4 years ago on Gunbroker. They were small pistol primers.

This picture of the primers in question might be of interest to some. The colours are very close to the packet in real life.

Thank you for that pic!

That's a distinctive package and it rings absolutely zero bells for me.....kinda' reminiscent of the old Herter's days (Farbenvuori?) but not one I've ever seen. And I would remember.

Ah well

Ah well. They may have only made them for a short time or maybe had them made by someone else and just labeled them Vit. In any case I found 1000 of them so they are worth a try to see what pressures they can stand.

Eh!
Try them and see what happens.
One of the old guys at work gave me some .30-06 ammo. His Dad reloaded in the 50-60's. He wasn't sure. Wanted me to pull the bullets and dump the brass and powder.
Powder smelled good. Re seated the bullets. They still shot good...Had a bronze tip...Shot 2 keeping the rest....
