Tube Rifle kits

I spoke to a fellow today who makes wood stocks for conventional rifles. I asked him if he had been contacted by anyone looking for benchrest stocks for Airguns. He said Yes BUT, Air Rifles are very difficult to make stocks for, in comparison to Cartridge rifles. He said he must have a form to use to make a copy from.

I noticed when looking at the rifles in California that most of them are Tube Guns, of one form or other. I asked him if he thought a Tube Gun stock might be a better solution for Air Rifles and he said yes. He has had some experience with Tube Rifles and thinks they are just fine.

So, are there Tube Rifle Kits in our future? I think they may be exactly what we need.

Hi Pete. I am very new to air rifles. Spent part of the summer in Oregon. Met Dennis D. from Eugene, Ore. He is very big into Air guns of top quality. He has a small truck load of them. He let us shoot them to see what we liked. He had a TM1000 that he had made an aluminum tube stock for. The man is very clever. I liked it so much I got a TM1000 without the stock and the aluminum from On Line Metals. Now all I need is a mill!!!!!!! and the talent to operate it. No one ever accused me of thinking things through before I jump in with both feet. Wish Dennis would post some pictures of his project. Very slick project. Don

Pete,
Your right, it is a cheaper way to go, and it does not affect accuracy. My stock was suppose to be done for that event, it's a shame because it's a beauty and a beast. The stock was built around one of Gordon's actions. Once it's done I'll post some pics. He's willing to make more, in different configurations to suit ones action and cylinder.

Regards,
Joe
