TRINIDAD STATE JUNIOR COLLEGE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE TIME TO THANK THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS & COMPANIES FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF OUR STUDENTS AND THE FUTURE OF THE SHOOTING SPORTS IN THIS GREAT LAND OF OURS. P.O. ACKLEY WHO STARTED THE SCHOOL BACK IN 1947 WOULD BE VERY PROUD AND HONORED IF HE WERE HERE TO SEE THE COLLEGES GROWTH AND THE SUPPORT IT IS GIVEN.
IRENE FAZIO:
Those of us who shot with Bill and Irene will remember the love they shared together for the sport of benchrest. Irene was kind enough to donate Bill's bullet making equipment to the college in order that future shooters could experience the art of bullet swaging first hand and the pride in shooting a projectile made by ones own hands.
WALT BERGER:
The gentleman of our sport. Who upon learning of Irene's donation, took it upon himself to insure we had presses in which to uses the dies Irene had donated could be used.
BERGER BULLETS:
Eric Stecker also made sure that the college was well stocked for this new venture by providing jackets and lead cores & wire to build some of the best match bullets on the planet.
Brownells Inc.:
Frank & Pete Brownell & Dave Bennetts donations to the school are responsible for its growth and staying current with today's technologies. They yearly donate new CNC mills, manual milling machines, lathes and tooling for the students to work on the best that is on the market.
Gradient Lens Inc.:
In conjuction with Brownells set up a $10,000 video bore inspection lab at the college for students to study the internal working of the firearms we love so much and to expose the students to the benefits and detriments that cleaning, shooting and the elements have on a barrel. Plus the students can inspect the quality of their work as they work on their barreling projects at the college. This is our most used tool in the college.
JOHN LOH / JJ INDUSTRIES:
John has contributed large amount of raw materials for the student to use. John is the man, when it comes to students needing materials for special projects. He gives his time, advice and materials at cost to our students and always asks what else can I do for the college.
McMillan STOCKS:
Kelly McMillan and his family continue to provide the college's students with anything they need and make great efforts to insure they arrive on time to complete class assignments. Following in the steps of Gale & Pat McMillan they continue to provide the world with some of the best product available.
KRIEGER RIFLE BARRELS
John Krieger told me that he held the college is the highest regard. True to his words he offers the students barrels and his services and experience as if they were for his on family.
SHILEN RIFLE BARRELS INC.
No telling how many National Championships, World Records and point towards various Halls of Fame, Shilen has contributed to over the years. Now they contribute to the future gunsmiths of our country and are a source of barrel manufacturing information to all who attend TSJC.
LEUPOLD & STEVENS:
Leupold's interest in providing the students with any and all optics and accessories assures that their completed projects will perform the their greatest accuracy potential, thus verifying the effort they put into a project was verified.
LILJA RIFLE BARRELS:
Dan is selfless in his efforts to provide TSJC students with the barrels needed and always takes the time to generate drawings for any special project the students need for their classes.
PACIFIC TOOL & GAUGE:
Besides providing reamers to the industry and the world. Dave Kiff provides more to the student at TSJC than reamers. He is our best non-paid instructor as he will the take time (hours on end) to instruct any student who calls him in the art of generating the best reamer for the project the student has in mind.
JERRY STILLER & REST OF HIS CREW:
Between Jerry Stiller, Curtis Helton and Lois Reynolds our students are some of the best taken care of in the land. Any parts, questions or tech info required is provided by them in professional manner not often seen these days. One of our new students told me he learned more about bullet making in his conversation with Lois than he had read in his entire life.
JGS REAMERS:
JGS continues to provide our students with the best floating reamer holders on the planet. The difference in quality of a barrel job when our students complete a job is easily measureable and visually apparent.
KELBLY"S INC.:
Long the standard of what a BR action should be, the Kelbly family continues to take young gunsmiths futures to heart and provide them with materials that will assist them through the rigors of college.
DR. PETE DEVASTO:
For contributing close to 30 actions for sale as fundraisers to take students to the annual Brownells Career Fair in Iowa.
BRET SOLOMON:
World class F-Class shooter from Monroe, Mi. who upon finding out there was a shortfall of funds in taking and accomodating the graduating class to the Brownells Job Fair in 2008 reached deep into his own pockets and made sure no students were left behind becuase of lack of funding. Two students now are working at the companies of their dreams due to Bret's act of kindness.
JOHN & TRINA HILL:
For contributing actions, reamers, stock blanks, surface grinders, lathes and other machinery to the gunsmithing program. John & Trina's avid love for the shooting sports wanted students to have any item they could offer to the program to promote its growth and success as one of the most viable programs like it in the world.
I apologize for any who I may have inadvertently left out.
Giving to these student is the future of gun ownership in the United States. As we give to them they will in turn pass this on for generations to come.
If anyone has anything to donate to the future of these students no matter how small you can contact the college at 719-846-5578. These are tax deductable contributions and are greatly appreciated by Staff & Student alike. I would urge everyone who reads this to support those who support the future of shooting in the U.S..
