Tony Boyer asked me to post this on the forum;

“I would like to thank DiOrio Mfg. Company for the new Turbo V-1 action, Bartlein Barrels for supplying the barrel and Lapua ammunition. These three companies afforded me the opportunity to shoot my first potential 3 target yards world record at 2012 Piney Hills IR 50/50 Indoor Nationals. My gun was chambered and built by Anthony and Bill from DiOrio Mfg. Company on a Pippin Stock, thanks again to all parties. Tony Boyer”

Record? Please Explain, I `m missing something!

Looks to me Dennis Drake set the record, can`t be but one and thats the one at the top. This ain`t little league is it . What about Dennis,Thats the record thats official ,if it ain`t ;there is a nigerian in the wood pile!

Willy: Once confirmed all three are records. Read the rule book. We may not agree with the rule, but the rule it is. Next match it happens the record Dennis set has to be matched or bested to be a record.

Same with the 250-25X Bill Pippin shot earlier this year. Everyone else who shoots one is a record, but no one can beat that one so Bill did it first and that will always stand as such. bob

Willy: Yes, unless some one else shot a better UL yards agg at some indoor match last weekend and/or the records committee does not verify his cards. bob

" my first potential 3 target yards world record "
you guys seem to have missed the third word quoted above potential

And you apparently did not read posts 3 and 5. Until the records committee certifies the targets nothing is a record. That can take maybe 30 days or so. bob

Hey Bill
Tell "Ole Grumpy" that's some pretty good shooting world record or not. That goes for Dennis also. You,Anthony and Mike keep up the good work.

Some of the replies and their snide ness may be a reason folks like tony Boyer don't participate in such forums. I won't point the finger at anyone, but you be the judge. Potential certainly defines the current state of affairs as it relates to his targets. Nice shooting! Greg

GLP This discussion is not about Tony. It never was beyond Tony saying thank you. If it were I would not participate beyond congratulations. It is about how IR50 does things. The question raised was valid.

I consider Tony a good friend. He does not read nor participate in these forums on a general basis, he is a valuable contributor to our game and deserves what he has rightfully earned. bob

First of all my comments had nothing to do with Tony Boyer! I was entrigue that the 2nd place finisher was getting more pats on the back for finishing 2nd in Yards and 2nd in a world record than the 1st place finisher in both, now I was a bit confused and was wondering how this could be?? Tony shot good ,but he finished 2nd in the yards and 2nd in the record. I`m just not accustom that finishing 2nd was better than finishing 1st!

Looked to me as if Tony was patting the three companies involved on the back or did I miss something?

Pete, don't think you missed anything. Thought the original post thanking companies for a good shooting rig and a resultant POTENTIAL record was very nice and well put. Not sure why it got jumped on?

I wonder who wrote that rule? LOL. My big question is where did Bartlien Barrels come from to do that? They have great centerfire barrels I understand as a partner with Kreiger, as I'm told. Pardon my misspellings because i is always before e unless after c. LOL. Congrats to all three that broke that record. That tells us that there are many more records to come.

Anyone know what level of Lapua [Center-X, Midas+, X-Act] ammunition Tony Boyer was using? I've posted winning aggs. in local matches using the first two. IMHO the newer lots of Center-X are superior to the older ones.
