Tomball Score Match Results!!

We had a great day to shoot at Tomball this morning, overcast and very light conditions. The Benchrest Class had 17 shooters, the Factory Class had 4 show up. For some reason, no shooters showed up with "modified" Rifles, which I thought would be our biggest draw.
The Factory Class winners were:
Buddy Dotson....234 1x
Felton Corbett...229 2x
Roe Eby............228

The Benchrest Class was very competitive, with a total of seven 250's shot. The Top five shooters were:
Herbert Crear......250 22x........30BR
Dale Metzger.......250 20x........30BR
Ed Bernabeo........250 19x........30PPC
Keith Bee............250 17x........6BR
Russel Mathews...250 16x........6PPC

As you can see by the scores, we had some shooters who definetlly brought their "A" Game. Herbert Crear shot some outstanding targets, he came awfully close to shooting a perfect 25X's.
I would like to thank the shooters who came out and supported out match, even with the threat of rain.. We do need to attract more Factory and Modified Shooters. This is a good chance to get a taste of real Benchrest.
Our next club match will be the first Sunday in June. Spread the word.........jackie

Is there a web site as to what modified rifle means and location of the match.

I have an Factory 7MM STW that I would like to shoot more at long range for practice in the off season of hunting?

Jackie, Thank you for a well run match. It was good fun and a great day to shoot. Those who won definetly brought their "A" game. Herbert has proved he is tough.
I have a blast shooting the deuce but it won't compete at this game. I may have to bring my modified next time out.

Another great Sunday at the Tomball score match. If you wern't there you missed a good one. Buddy Dotson drove down from Tyler to shoot with us. Makes my 52 mile drive look like a trip to the mail box. Thanks Jackie for running the match and thanks to the Tomball Gun Club for letting us use their facility.

Great shooting guys. That score game ain't so bad, now is it? It takes a damn good rifle and shooter to get 20 X's and more! The real fun begins at 200 and 300. :)

Tomball VFS Match was a "Big Hit"

It was a good day at the range today. Lots of great competition,
plenty of good food. Compliments of Johnny Jones and
Allen Els. Thanks again for all your hard work and generocity.

I know a couple of new friendships were struck up today. Its
great place to meet people who share the same interests.

Herbert Crear has won the last two matches. He is on a roll
to say the least. Herbert told me that he hasn't had his rig out
of the case since the last match. If he starts to apply himself
we are in a lot a trouble. :D

Russell, I loaded next to you all day. :).....Vic

Jackie, what were the guys in the factory class shooting?

Daryl,
Don,t think a list of equipment was made. It was an informal match.

A friend of mine shot his 22-250. There were only 3 factory rifles.

Maybe some one else knows more.
