tome.............................................. ................

The middle class are the ones that give the money to the government to appease the "Haves and Have Nots" they are the backbone of the country. They don't have the time to protest and complain as the "Have-Nots" and they don't have the money to buy-off politicians like the "Haves" can!! I'm affraid, Tome if you make over $30,000 a year and less than $300,000 a year you are a slave worker for the government........somebody has to pay for their crazy ideas!!!:(:(:( Every politican promises to look-out for the "Middle Class", but you know who get's it when their elected!!

Yup it's most of the worker bees and the retirees who planned ahead who make up the "middle class". We're the ones who the "do everything for those who don't want to do anything for themselves" politicians discover have the money when it comes time for tax increases fall back on for money. If you own your own home (or are buying it), go to work every day, and pay your taxes you're probably middle class. If you're out waving signs complaining and protesting about how the government isn't doing enough for you you're likely not middle class. If you don't worry about tax increases on the rich you're likely rich enough to have your money stashed off-shore or in trusts like the Kennedys, and various other wealthy politicians and their supporters (e.g., Gyorgi Soros) who don't pay much in taxes anyway.

Now I've probably offended a few people, but as long as we still have freedom of speech offending people isn't illegal as long as it's not slander....

thanks for the posts...but ..what are the income levels that define " THE MIDDLE CLASS "..i'm damm sure obama's not in it..or even begins to understand it's values

Phil ..sorry i did'n't read your post before i shot back..we are all trolls..here to consume & pay taxes..and if you think you're any more than this..you're sadly mistaken..and this has nothing to do with politics..it's a goverment ( state & federal ) relationship with the ordinary citizen

Tome, "middle class" is defined by whichever group wants to twist the facts. It has no clearly defined income levels since it varies by state/region and by the politician who is going to tax them (us).

My method of defining middle class:
1. Not on food stamps, welfare, unemployment.
2. Gross income (all sources) is below $150,000 per year.

This makes 'middle class' the group that pays most of the taxes, operates small businesses, or works hard for a living.

You certainly didn't offend me; one of the best definitions I've heard.

The Middle Class are the ones that haven't figured out how to manipulate the system or have the morals that won't allow them to do so.

Unfortunately, I see that starting to change also. :(

Dang! There was I thinking that they were the ones who were neither normal or gay.

John,

That is the very best definition of the middle class I have ever heard. I think that I could have your name mentioned for Honorary Texan or something.:)

Great. I like Tex Mex.

Well, this is the place for Tex Mex. We are 165 miles and two stoplights north of Mexico. We also have steak to die for. If you are ever in our neighborhood, I will gladly take you to the best, after we first visit our ranges at the San Angelo Club.:)

Or we can go mex-tex...

....I can get us across the border in 15mins from my house and we'll dine on cabrito!!

Mmmm cabritooo.....

Guess it only applies to you (and me??).

The answer to your comment mysteriously disappeared again! It must have been "upsetting" to some rough and tough, macho, conservative shooter.

Sorry for upsetting anyone by suggesting Larry Elliot's post was political. Of course it wasn't because it was a conservative dig! :D

Anyhow, we get the "real" rules! ;) ;) ;) ;)

No! No! Stay away from that censor button!
