Looking for loading data for T 32 powder. Dad past away and left bench rest shooting rifles and loading equitment. Any help would be aprecheated, thanks, Greg

Which T32

Greg which T32 powder do you have. Many years ago there was the Norma T32 and the Nobels T32. I think they were sold as something else in other countries other than Australia. I have some data on the Nobels.

Andy.

The manufacture of the powder is TCCI, there no other markings on the plastic container. Greg

A friend of my brothers spent some time in the Russian army. The labeling of TCCI rings a bell as he mentioned that same lettering on things like boxes of tracer rounds. Probably best to throw it out because chances are the rifle won't shoot well on it when compared with known powders.

Andy.

Andy - I assume your joking - right? If so, you should make that clear so the original poster does not make a big mistake. If you're not joking, let me be the first to say that your giving very bad advice. Ryan

Greg, I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Tough way to get into the game.

The powder you mentioned falls under the label of "unobtanium," and has acquired a near legendary status among the errr, senior members of the fraternity.

You can and probably will get very solid loading advice from the guys here but I'd like to make a suggestion, sell it. There are several modern powder equivalents available that don't have the 'tarnal patina of misty-eyed memory attached to them. Powders that shoot lights out. Powders that win every day. If I owned any of the famous "T" I would absolutely put it up for auction right here and thereby trade up to a larger quantity of equally fine powder.

But that's because I have no sentimental attachment to it.

just a thought

Taken from Precision Shooting

Thunderbird T-322 or T-32 has been a favorite powder of top Benchrest shooters since first packaged in the ‘70’s. This was a military surplus powder (Dupont 8208) that was first used by Walt Berger for Benchrest shooting.

Walt was contacted by the folks at Thunderbird Cartridge Company to see if the 8208 that they bought had any application for Benchrest shooting. There were three lots of this surplus powder, and Walt found one to be better than the other two. He got a second opinion from Don Geraci. Both agreed that this one lot had the characteristics for which BR shooters were looking.

Thunderbird packaged this one lot as T-322, which was soon changed to T-32 because of a conflict with H-322 and GI-322. There was some 21,000 pounds of this special lot.

The other two lots were sold as Thunderbird 8208 and many found these lots to also be very good for BR use.

Thirty-plus years have passed since the introduction of this superb powder and it has become very scarce. Most of today’s supply of Dupont 8208 comes from pull down of 5.56mm military rounds. I guess that this is better than not having any, but it leaves a lot to be desired

Sorry to hear about your father. As you can see, you have something special. Iam sure that you have more than a few "Personal Messages" on here from gentlemen looking to buy it. Do not throw it away, and if you decide to sell it? Well like Al said, throw it up for auction, this is the right place to do it. Might be interesting. As Jackie said"alot of ears perked up"

My suggestion to you if you really like to shoot is to join in this benchrest crowd and follow in your fathers footsteps. BUT, do not start with that t32 powder. Save it till you know the game better. Define on this forum the description of the guns your dad left then you will get plenty of advise on loads, loading, etc. I am assuming there are gun(s) chambered in PPC, probably 6mm PPC?? Give a description as best as you can of the actions, stocks, scopes, etc. especially if they are over 10-15 years old as the advise given will depend on those components.

If you do not already have a consuming hobby, this is your path to one left by your father.
