Suhl Benchrest

I have an opportunity to purchase a used Suhl in a McMillan benchrest stock with factory barrel and factory trigger and a Harrel tuner. I currently shoot in local ARA matches the following;

* stock Anschutz 64 MPR
* Sako Finnfire (originally Range model) with Lilja barrel, bedded Stith stock
and Harrel tuner with factory trigger.

My question is will I be gaining much with the Suhl over what I currently have? Is the Suhl a better platform from which to rebarrel if I'm not satisfied with the barrel?

Thanks

My opinion. Maybe and yes. Maybe depends on the barrel on the Suhl and how well it is bedded. Yes as the Suhl is an excellent platform for a good smith to make a very nice rifle. If you want to make sporter class the answer is no and no. No magazine or safety on the Suhl, bob finger

The Suhl is a better platform than the 64. You need a Jewell trigger for the Sako for best performance and they are hard to come by right now.

Suhls are like hound dogs. Most are good, but some need a kick in the butt, and then sometimes that special one just comes along.
