Just flicked thru the slide show on RA

Didn't see many single front scope mounts being used. Or $18 Pappas baseball caps being worn.

Good to finally put some face to names and see how you guys put on the show.

All credit due, you sure now how to run a shooting match.

You don't have a clue what the hats looks like, I counted 11 without trying. Jessica sold all the hats she took except one. They are $15.00 at the match, no shipping. At the PSL Matches this year she sold over 150 hats.

Janes: Sounds like you are in the wrong business. Haberdashery seems more lucrative for you. And here I thought I was one of only a few with your cap. bob

I don't know about that, I figure I just lost $200.00 on the hats this year. Herb Gibson once told me that volume would make up for that but I haven't figured out how many hats I have to sell to get back even. We had a couple of special color hats made for Hoke Kerns and Fred Leeds, they both came out real nice. You will probably see a few the color of Fred's hat next year. It is wild to say the least.

James: At least you are in good company. The guy who was our President when we were very young kids was once in the haberdashery business and he too lost his shirt. Look at it as a tax deduction for good will. Will be really nice to see Cadillac Jack at shoots again even if he does come with a funny colored cap. I look forward to it. bob

I doubt you will see Fred Shoot again. Between the time we ordered his hat and when we received it, Fred reired from shooting. I sold his rest awhile back and his rifles were sold. I do still talk to him and he may shoot in an air rifle match or two in CA. but I am pretty sure you won't see him again in the ARA or PSL Matches.

James: Now that is indeed sad news. It was always a joy to chat with Fred and his wife while enjoying the sport. I had heard rumblings, but nothing definitive. Say howdy for me next time you chat with him, please. Life goes on and Fred does love to wet a line. bob

Tim: It's SCHMUCK.....He is a Schmuck. Ol hamster, don't ya know.... LOL! !!! He has it wrong, not us.... Ed.

Jim

Its not hard to work out what colour the hat is. LOL In my business selling and wearing are to entirely different things. Sounds like a fantastic business idea sell 150 hats and loose $200.
You should try out for one of those government financial advisor positions. You couldn't do any worse than the current lot Obama has on the pay roll.

I did see a number of 1 piece rests, were they all of your designs?

Timbo

Smuck, schmuck...its obvious that you know all there is to know.

Good morning Hamster: Spelling is not one of my strong points, nor do I GARA about it. I do however, know a SCHMUCK when I read the rambling of one.
Just buy a hat..............at least you can "look" like one of us. Ed. USA!

Let me try again real slow so you can understand. At the ARA Nats, Dawn walks down the line where the competitors are sitting at their bench and takes a picture of each person for the ARA Newsletter. Many of the shooters take their hat off for the picture because of the light. Actually there are 2 different color hats at the Nationals. Are you with me so far? As far as the rests, read the equipment list, I did not pay attention to them.

Hi Ed
Well you sure did ok on the spelling bee. I'm guessing you have followed old Timbos post for years to gain that level of expertise. Just how much does a RA's cost these days?
I've never had to buy a baseball cap, I've always had them given to me. Good quality ones to boot. I donated them to the local clothing charity shop. or let friends and family take them when ever they wanted. There only so many you can wear out. I must still have 2 dozen of more laying around the house, office, workshop etc.

Assuming it takes 1 years hard wearing to reach the stage where its consigned to the bin that still gives me 25+ years before I need to open my wallet for one. Assuming of course that I don't get given any more in the mean time. Having connections in the marketing industry means that good quality freebies are always being dumped on us. I shouldn't complain. LOL

Hamster: I dont follow Tim's "post" He is a friend of mine. ( in person, face to face, at the next bench, ect..ect.. ) Here in America, not on a "keyboard" from overseas.
I spell that rite? enough of the hat shat.............we get it. 2 dozen free hats, 25 yrs each. good luck w/that.

So you get free hats, heck I thought everything was free in the UK, housing, food, medical services, and ect. Hows that working out for you? I guess that is why you are grumpy, I am being nice, all the time.............................

I'd much rather receive top quality service and superior products than a free cap any day. bob

Jim: I for one , am truley enjoying my Pappas Rimfire hat. It's of High quality, & looks great...even on a mug like mine. There are a bunch of us up here in NY. "you know who we are" We shoot matches in our hat's, We Look like a Team!!! LOL!!! LOL!!! Thanx again!

Ed

What can I say... I guess someone has to be. It explains your pitch.
On the hat front my numbers were a pure conservative estimation. If I could be assed to find them and count them I'm pretty sure we would top my estimate by a handful or 2.

Have a good day now y'all
