I'm considering buying a copy of Sierra's Infinity Ballistic software. Before I do, I would appreciate your comments pro and con regarding the usefullness and accuracy of the program.

Thanks in advance.

I think it's very good. I use it to calculate bullet drop for adjusting elevation and windage on my scope so I have no hold-over when varmint hunting.

+2 on that.

It has charts and graphs and all of the info from the book as well as other manufacturers.

Nice program

But not unless you need the manual that is on the disc, save your money. The graphs are nice. If your looking for wind drift, bullet drop, target lead, energy calculations and time of flight. Go to this web based ballistic program. http://www.eskimo.com/~jbm/calculations/calculations.html
It is just as accurate and is free.

Consider also

QuickLOAD and Quick Target are more versatile. You can even build wildcats with it. It will do the charts (graphic views) or data tables for output. It is also amazingly accurate for things like zeroing at 100 then clicking up to 600 for 600 yard benchrest. And, has bullet and powder libraries for most every bullet and powder made today. Change barrel lengths, you name it..
