Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the primary use of this system is to hunt two legged animals. A .338 Lapua is a bit overkill on a deer...
And????
I've got motors that produce MUCH more horsepower than is necessary..... in bikes and boats and quads and even trucks that "could be used for hunting."
I have rifles and pistols of all stripes and sorts up to 50 caliber, many of my pistols in particular are ONLY for these "two-legged animals" you refer to. (And for FUN.)
And what's about "deer?" I've built several hunting rifles using a blown out 338 Lapua and have 6 more being built right now, from 338 up to 50 cal. Legitimate HUNTING rigs that can and do get bloody for real. One of them just got back from Africa last week.
But none of this is relevant to the op's question. Would I ever own one of those computerized things??? Doubtful, even though I "can afford it."
Should I be able to own one??? ABSO-FRIGGIN'-LUTELY!!!!
I'm offended that any shooter would think differently. In a world where govts ban soda pop and outlaw hamburgers, a world where children are allowed to vote their whims as though they were big people, a world where words like "science" and "doctor" are open to interpretation and buzz-speak is gospel.......
I'm sorry I'm an anachronism but I'M AN AMERICAN!
My founding fathers were extremists,
As I'm I guess
