I think I read somewhere that there is a kit of shell holders that are ground at various heights to allow resizing of factory cases at different bump lengths.
I can't find the thread. It was an answer to someones problem.
Can anyone remember this information.
Can't find it in Hornady, RCBS, ??

Something to remember before you order the Redding shellholder kit, the shellholders are all taller/thicker than the standard shellholder of that size.
If you are having trouble full length sizing enough with the regular shellholder then this kit is not the solution.
Shellholders can be surface ground to a shorter height or I have even used 400 grit sandpaper on a flat surface; a table saw works great. I have done this for a .223 and other shellholders that wouldn't allow me to bump the shoulder enough.

A new SAMI chamber on a new barrel which is shorter than the RCBS die will size.

Kansasvet is right, a set of Redding shell-holders may not solve your problem if you're working with a factory chamber. It may, but you won't know until you try them and then it's too late.

If you have a buddy who knows what he's doing he can grind a little off the bottom of the FL die. That, by itself, will allow you to adjust shoulder bump by adjusting the lock ring on the die in the normal way.

Agreed---have had more than one ground. The shell holder route would be easier.
 
The short shell holder trick works great but remember to MARK the modified holders and store them with THAT set of dies for THAT rifle. You are sizing cases with a shorter than normal headspace dimension.
 
I would hope that everybody on this site has a way of measuring the shoulder to base dimension and is adjusting their sizing die to bump the shoulder back a thou or 2.

I recently bought a used 223AI bbl that ended up with tight headspace on my 40x. I simply went over to the bench grinder and knocked about .020" off the top of the shellholder. I then adjusted the sizing die until I had the bump I wanted and was good to go.
