Semi glue in bedding

I used Soft Seal as a skim coat that seemed to damp out vibrations for me, after epoxy bedding. Can't find it anywhere, now. BUT Lee Liquid Alox has the same tackyness after drying a few minutes, and that's what I use to renew the coating after I pull the stock off for trigger work, etc. Tacky target rifles, that's me....When's Wawarsing going back to ARA, so I don't have to make a balsa wood stock for my Win52??? PS: Don't forget to clean off the old dried grease with paint thinner, before painting on a thin coat of the new stuff. The stock bolts get tightened down after the stuff sets up about 10-15 min.

A question???

Let me ask this question: After a action is glued in and then the action screws are tightened, are BOTH screws and glue performing a function? Could it be that only ONE of the holding methods is doing anything at all and the other is doing nothing? Would someone like to give an answer as to which is really serving to hold the receiver in place?

I'll pull a B. C. and give you the answer later!

Leaving the screws in on a glue in is like wearing both belt and suspenders. it insures the rifle won't hit the concrete when you pick it up and the glue lets go (I suspect it has happened!) bob finger

I would adjust the screws just finger tight after the glue has setup. This assumes the glue job is done correctly.

I ressemble that

Bob:
I use a belt to hold my suspenders, Works great. No unpleasant surprises when I suck in my stomach.
