hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, lookout boys , she's on a roll,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,stay tune for more of the new hit show " julia show the guy's how to shoot"

I would enjoy seeing her repeat last weekends performance.

Be careful what you ask for, you may get it and get it repeatedly once she gains confidence in her abilities it could become a common occurance. See ya Sun. Steve

I'm not currently a FxRGC member but I would like to come out and watch a few of these matches. I have a few questions about these matches and I'm wondering if someone could help.

Is the gate, at the main entrance, open when matches are scheduled?
On which range would I find these matches?
How do I get to there from the main gate?

FWIW: I normally shoot down at Quantico, but the sporadic range availability is becoming a bit old.

Thanks,
James

James, the gate is open by 8 am and the match is on the high power range. When you come thru the gate take a right turn and follow the road all the way down the hill and around the lake, the high power range is next to the last range on the road. I'm sure you will see the cars and people there for the match. The matches are open to the public and they have a factory and custom class, bring something and shoot. Nice folks at Fairfax. see ya there, steve

james, never been to that club , BUT, I do know Adrian Van Gorder & TBonz(Tom Lightsey)) and you won't find 2 nicer guys to watch and ask questions to get straight answers from(I'd wait until after all the match's are over). best bet, sit back, watch and make a list of questions to ask, I've never been in a competitive sport like shooting where the competition is so nice and helpful.

James,

IBS is completely seperate from USBR, but that doesn't really matter anyway. Factory and Modified factory are really up to the club in question as to the rules they will follow. This is short notice however and you may not really have something ready to go. Just come out and talk with some of the shooters and you will get an idea as to what goes on at one of these matches. I'll be happy to spend a little time showing you around...Hal

A couple of times. She, like other Lady shooters I have observed, is Patient. Other Women Champions I have watched posess the same quality'; when their "Head" is in it.

During WW II, Women became welders on a big scale. I have always heard that they were better than men because they have steadier hands= patience I believe.

10-4. It's better that I get a clue before I attempt anything. See you tomorrow.

I thought the same as you...I went with some friends to watch a match...They (meaning Adrian:eek:) signed me up and I shot a "loaner"...I've yet to attend a match to watch as I planned that day and that was a couple of years ago...been to lots of them and shot my factory .223 in several...Hal and Adrian can probably give you better advice, but they just don't have my incredible personality...

If it is raining, I'll be the one with the 12 year old baseball player who's game was rained out...if not, I'll be there anyway! Look forward to meeting you!

Thanks for the introduction. I'm definitely interested in learning more and coming out to shoot.

Can someone point me to some more information about the factory class? I'm seeing a lot of vague references and conflicting information. That may be the best place for me to get some trigger time and experience.

James, I'm glad I got to meet you, and thanks for helping me get set up. You got to see how we share stuff, including rifles... it all works out. If you'd like to try a bench gun, just say the word and it'll happen.

Pretty much any factory rifle can be shot in the Factory class, as long as nothing has been upgraded on the rifle, bring it out. You do have to shoot it single shot. Thinking back for the last few matches at Fairfax, we've had Savage, Remington and Sako bolt action rifles out there. Yesterday, the Factory class winner was Ray shooing a Savage in 22-250.

There is a match next Saturday down in Richmond. Bring a rifle or I can bring one for you.

I'll have to skip this one. A friend of mine is back from Iraq, and we'll be catching up. I'll definitely set aside some time for the next FxRGC match.

Thanks Again,
James

James,

It was great meeting you...hope to see you at a match soon...

Definitely worth the catch-up...thank him or her for all of us...

As an FYI, there is also a match on Sunday in Thurmont, MD. Just north of Frederick...

Don't know if I'll make Black Creek or Thurmont with double-headers both Saturday and Sunday, but I'm hoping to make one of them...
