Sako Extractor Question

The 'Sako' extractor that came with my used PTG 223 bolt has a cutout for the cartridge rim that is much larger [ longer ] than is needed.
With the set up I have the tip of the extractor is right at the nose of the bolt. If I want to cut the bolt nose back to .120 [ versus the current .140 ] I will have to do some grinding on the tip of the extractor.

I see in the catalogs that there are 2 or 3 different sizes of Sako extractors. Do all of them have the same external dimensions? What are the differences ?

Thanks
Ray

Quite a while back, I did a 30-30 project on a Remington 700 that I wanted to heaspace on the rim. I did a bunch of modifying to the front of the 700 bolt, added a Sako Extractor that of course stuck out. In order to headspace on the rim, I had to place a curved cut, (clocked correctly), in the barrel face. I cut this as shallow as possible, so as to not uncover the solid part of the case web, and did grind the end of the Sako Extractor for the final clearance. It gave me no problems.
If you use common sence, and don't get carried away, there is no problem with grinding some off of the end. .....jackie

There are three different sizes of Sako extractors; they are all different.
