River Bend's 2022 Centerfire Benchrest "Open" Matches -- Results

JAN REPORT -- When I pulled in a little before 8 AM yesterday it was a very chilly ~ 28° -- but that didn't stop 11 hardy shooters from coming to enjoy the day shooting score. The temperature was ~ 33° when we started shooting (and the breeze made it very uncomfortable) and ~ 49° when we finished for the day; after having been ~ 52° earlier.

Thanks to: Jim Andress for running the match, scoring and running the computer, Keith Brock for helping place and retrieve targets, Miles and Chris Gibby for providing lunch for us (BBQ, potato salad, cole slaw and lemon pound cake), all those who helped move target frames, and all the shooters for being there -- also thanks to RBGC for providing this venue for us to shoot.

We'll be shooting group next month; come shoot with us.

FEB REPORT -- We had 9 shooters today. The temp. was ~ 39° when we started shooting and ~ 65° when we finished. Thanks to: Jim Andress for running the match and scoring; Bill Dittman for being the computer jockey; Dan Honert for providing a baked ham, sandwich bread and chips for lunch -- and River Bend for providing baked beans and condiments to compliment the ham; those who helped move the target frames; and all the shooters for being there -- also thanks to RBGC for providing this venue for us to shoot. It was a nice day.

We'll be shooting 100/200 yd score next month; come shoot with us.

Jun Report -- After a cancellation in March and having been bumped by registered matches in April and May, we got to shoot again, on June, 11th; we had 9 shooters -- including long-absent Jack Perry and Dave Rabin.

Jul Report -- The weather won today -- the match was cancelled, after 7 shooters arrived.
 
Aug Report - We had eleven shooters today, including long-absent Bill Coots (from Ringgold, GA) and Kate Dittman (who just graduated from college).

Sep Report - We had five shooters today (however, Joe Bougard left at the break). Nov Report - We had eight shooters yesterday, including: (a) Norm Sills from Billings, MT, shooting his first benchrest match -- with a borrowed 6mm (thanks for shooting with us and come again when you're in this part of the world again); and (b) one factory rifle.

Dec Report - We had 12 shooters today (the most we've had at a club match in over three years), including: (a) Larry Rainwater (shooting his first benchrest match); (b) Dan Honert (from TN); (c) David McDowell (from Mobile, AL, via Chattanooga)-- thanks for shooting with us and come again every chance you get; and (d) one factory rifle .

We shot a "mini," "Tack Driver"-type format (i.e., ten targets, alternating score targets and group targets) at 200 yards, using 100-yard targets.

2. Greg Ellis - 245-11x (.243)

Greg had the best target -- a 50-2x.

Dan Honert and David both shot a "screamer" -- .184 and .203, respectively.
