Right hander shooting a left hander

I was just thinking today, I shoot right handed. But I could shoot a left handed rifle just to get the bolt on the side of the gun that I am sitting on. Has anyone ever seen this done? Seems like it would be kind of convenient when loading.

Left handers have been shooting right handed guns for a long time. I always thought that a left-left would work great.

Someone pointed out to me

A couple of months ago that the bolt handle would be right in a persons face if they were to open it while keeping their face near the stock for fast shooting. I am not nearly fast enough to consider that though.

Shooters tend to be an inflexible lot. Because I shoot on the left, (left eyed) I figured out a long time ago (shot a lot of RR factory rifles, and liked the configuration) that all of the rifles that are built on factory actions for right handers, for bench or bipod use, should probably be built on LH actions. When I have mentioned this to fellow shooters, in just about every case, the suggestion has been met with great skepticism. After all, what self respecting right handed shooter would even consider a left handed rifle, sort of like the time I told a fellow that was ordering his first custom action, for a bench varmint rifle, that he would find a right bolt left port configuration handier than the usual right right that he had been shooting. He dismissed the idea. Later, I took him to a bench match to reinforce what I had been suggesting as to "how it is done". After watching his first match, he admitted that he could readily see what I had been talking about. Later, to make him feel better about his choice, I mentioned that the Benchrest shooter with far and away the best lifetime record, also shoots a right right, right handed.

I've only owned one left handed rifle a left bolt/right port Panda, and couldn't see a lot of advantage, if any, over a right/right which is what all my live varmint rifles are. It seems to me that a left/left rifle for a righthander would work like a charm.
