We had 10 shooters come out to play at Pinnacle Mountain on Saturday making this the largest non-State Championship benchrest match of any kind held at Pinnacle Mountain in over five years which only goes to show just how dedicated a group of AG BR shooters we are now catering to here in the Northeast. And, to support this even further, due to my unknowingly cross-scheduling this match up against the first Double Rimfire Benchrest Match of the season in the Northeast, my expectations had been for only a minimal crowd. Man, was I ever wrong!

What a day we had – that is other than for a very humbling left-to-right breeze. Or was it right-to-left? No, now I’ve thought about it, it was blowing in? Or was it blowing out? I guess the only thing I can say for sure is; it sure did seem like all of the above conditions were happening across the board, ALL AT THE SAME TIME and all day long. But on a more positive note, that same breeze gave Mr. Brown another opportunity to showcase his abilities, and did he ever while the rest of us could only stand in awe while watching him show us how “it’s” suppose to be done. Very nice!

If you check the breakdown below you will see that on Dan’s first target he could only manage a 249-11X, and that was because of having dropped his very first shot for record, then turning around and cleaning the rest of the target. He followed that with a 247-7X, and then completed his day with a 244-10X. Yup, what a day for Mr. Brown!

So, you ask how the rest of us did? The answer is:

We have now completed our 2012 Pinnacle Mountain schedule. I truly do need to thank everyone for all of their help and support throughout this abbreviated season, and especially want to thank Paul, Dan and Daniel for everything they have done, because without their help I’m afraid I would have had to throw in the towel long ago. As for next year, time will tell.

That’s the scoop from up here on the Mountain. Congratulations once again go out to my good friend Mr. Brown!

No worries Mate! I'll just keep trudging along on my way to hopefully being there in 2015.

Good shooting guys. You guys are really tuning those air rifles to precision shooters. Pinnacle is one of my favorite ranges to shoot, never easy, but always fun.

Best,
Michael

Thanks Dave for holding the matches.
Is it just me or is shooting benchrest all day exhausting? When I got home I couldn't do anything for the rest of the evening I was so tired. It takes a lot of concentration in those conditions.

Thanks for running as many matches as you did, Dave. I wish the politics at Pinnacle were such that we could shoot more matches there in the future. Hopefully things will change and we'll all be able to come back to that windblown mountain top you call a range;).

Dan, Great pictures, as always. Wish you'd shot that movie just a few minutes longer, when the wind blew my windicator over, even with that maple log on it!
See you guys at the next one!
Todd

Dave, Thanks for all your efforts in putting on great shoot. Dan congrats, it's apparent you've been working on the Twindy again. I believe Franky's correct in that it was great to see Doug on the line again. Until the next Match ( when is it by the way? ) stay healthy all.

Mark

Dave,

See you either at Salem, Holbrook, or Capital City in Maine.

Yea know, it seems once again that we had better all rethink this adjustable rest thing. After watching Dan and Daniel do what they have done for the years they've been shooting with us, I think some of their success may be due to them being more a part of their gun than the rest of us making it easier for them to make subconscious adjustments as they go along where the rest of us have to crank this knob or that to do the same thing. We just aren't as in-tune with our equipment as we think we are, that's all.

And, if you believe that, I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you!
