We had 46 shooter come out. Everyone had a great time. Sat condition wer calm to say the least,we had some rain & cloud cover which helped with the marage. But it shure was muggy. Sun. was a different story. No rain & lots of sun & marage. Wind came about 10 am. Temp got up to 102. Seeing the target was tough enough, finding your bullet hole was almost impossible AT 200.
I hope I got the results right. I had about 15 hours of sleep in 3 days. Stll real tired.
Looks like VFS is thriving. We had 10 more shooters this year than last year.
The target crew did an outstanding job. They had us humping to get back to the line. Thanks to all envolved in putting on a great Shoot.

Russell, thanks for the shoot. We had a blast for sure. VFS matured in a hurry on the Gulf Coast. If you are going to do well, you have to bring your "A" game for sure. There are lots of shooters capable of winning here.
Thanks again to you, your crew, and all the shooters who showed up.

What is the GCR class? Is that like the IBS varmint hunter class?

JML,

"GCR" is not the class - it was the match. We shot for the NBRSA Gulf Coast Region Varmint for Score Championship on Sunday. Nick Marino was the Grand Aggregate Winner and GCR Score Champion with a 548-19x in conditions that started off mild in the morning but fooled a lot of us in the afternoon. We also shot the Battle of San Jacinto on Saturday. Joe Duke won the Battle with a very impressive 500-34x.

Thanks to Russell, the target crew, and the scoring crew for a great match!

Thanks for clearing that up. I attended the Missouri State and Mississippi Valley Regional in St. Louis in a similar shooting format over the weekend. I shot both both Hunter class and Varmint for Score. This is the first year the shoot was a combined VFS and HTR class format. Turnout was about 50% higher than last year. It was good to see new faces, and a different mix of shooters. I think at this point I'd have to say including VFS in the NBRSA has been a success.

Thanks Russell to you and your crew for running an excellent match. Although I didn't do so hot, it was great being with those that did. A lot of the same ole crowd and some new faces too. The weather was typical Tomball in July; hot and sticky, requiring lots of towels and water. But...meeting lots of old shooting buddies and catching up with all the %$#@^ stories made it all worth while.

See ya next year!
