Remington action threads

If Remington 700 action is 16 or 18 TPI, will barrels cut for BAT, Nesika, Stolle, Hall etc. all need to be rethreaded for a 700 action? If so, can this be done without shortening the barrel?

Remington is 1 1/16"-16 TPI
The Hall has 1"-16 TPI.
The BAT and Stolle have 1 1/6"-18 TPI
It's been a while since I've had a Nesika in my hand but I think they're 1 1/16"-18 TPI also.
So the answer to your question is no.

Farley

The originol Farley's had the same thread as a Remington 700, or at least nominolly it is the same. I have sold quite a few take off barrels from my Farley Benchrest Rifles to local shooters with Remingtons. You can chuck the barrel up, cut the shoulder back for the recoil lug (if needed), and establish the counterbore where the cone used to be. It won't be a full "three rings of steel" like a real Remington, but works just fine.
Many shooters also have me just run a 6BR reamer into the 6PPC chamber, as the 6BR seems to be more popular with the non competitive shooters.
I have seen some of these cobbled together things shoot phenominolly well.......jackie
