Is the ejector for a Remington 722 with a 222/223 bolt face the same as a Remington 700 with the same bolt face?

Yes they are the same. The extractors are different.The 722 uses a rivit and the 700 snaps in.

the 722 has a "half shoulder step down" on the tip,i guess the 700 ejector will work,but never tried one in a 722

I see that. Any idea why it has that step on the face? It doesn't look like it serves any purpose with such a shallow depth.

Easier than cutting springs to different lengths.

700's then went to a radius nose ejector.

Eliminate both options to what you see today.
